badndn
On pace to obliterate Biggios team record for hits in a season. And he's only 24 years old.
TxHoops
Very impressive. I will say one thing for him and his teammates...they play hard. Future may be brighter than some think for the Stros.

badndn
Just hope they can keep him happy $$$$$$ wise. Good point. They signed him to a very very team friendly contract before the season; therefore they have team control for something like five more years, but another season like this one by Jose and I would expect the grumblings to start. Peppermint Patty
Just hope they can keep him happy $$$$$$ wise. Maybe they can pay by the foot. B) He's a heck of a player. He needs to be locked down ASAP.
king
Altuve has 206 hits on the season. 210 is team record by Craig biggio. They play Indians next 4 days. Then mariners next 3 after that. Imma keep a close eye might make the game when he gonna break that record

htownfan
He broke the single season hits record tonight with a hit up the middle in the 7th... He has had one heck of a year... The future looks bright for the Stros! CraigS
KABrother
Crazy stat comparison...going into last nights game Altuve had 209 hits, 42 doubles, & 52 steals...the last time a player put up those kinds of number?...1917 by one Tyrus Cobb (225-44-55)...he was a decent player... The future looks bright for the Stros! Yeah I agree all they need is like another 7 position players and a pitcher or 2 and they are set :D Altuve is by far the best player on this team - if he played for any team in the race he would be getting a lot of talk for MVP I think. badndn
I dont ever recall Biggio getting talk of MVP when he was stealing 50 bags getting 200+ hits, hitting 20 bombs and driving in 80+. And his teams were good. Altuve doesnt hit the long ball like Biggio did. So frankly if he played for a contrnder he would play second, third or even fourth fiddle to someone on that team. A healthy Springer would overshadow Altuves game. "Chicks dig the longball!" - Greg Maddux
