email Coach Clay Davis at [email protected]

or call

If there is enough interest from younger teams there will be a 3rd division.

Kountze led nearly the entire game but the Hawks pulled it out in the last couple of minutes.( Don't you just hate that Dove?)

When you make that analogy, is it from personal experience?

HJ always puts on a great tournament. Beaumont Trail Blazers played both HJ & Kountze very well. Had a chance to win both games. The big guard for HJ is the truth, the kid scores at will. Kountze is a very balanced & athletic Team. We really enjoyed the competition. Good luck to both programs.

Dove did you get a chance to see us play last weekend? We took your advice and stayed in the lab. We are getting better, kids are starting to believe. We play Varsity level to get " schooled." I firmly believe if you take kids out of their comfort zone, soon they begin to realize they are capable to do anything if they want it bad enough. So we're not afraid to be taken out to the wood shed, we won't duck competition. By the end of this Summer everyone will know who the Beaumont Trail Blazers are. The already know the crazy Coach Lol. We will no longer be laughed at. I take the kids nobody wants and develop young men. It has taken a few years, but now  we can get a little respect. I will say that we have the best gear hands down. We look like a sponsored Team Lol. Staying in the lab
The main thing is that they respect you and willing to get better. Those kids will run through a brick wall for you coach. Half the battle is over.

HJ lucked out on another win  ;D

Yep- any win they get was/is lucky.
I think Nash is very close to this program. He's always taking up for them. The man is stubborn like a mu..well nevamind, and wears blinders.

All those trips to regionals plus a state title and another state semi final will do that to you.

Nope- not at all- HJ developed their own players rather than bringing them in from all over the nation; not to mention internationally
Okay, you got me on this one. I will admit getting players from Liberty , Texas is nothing compared to NY or Africa. ;)

Did Nederland have a team in the tournment?
Ned entered a JV team, and they won all 3 games they played. The team was comprised of mostly Freshmen kids who will be Sophs next year.

Nederland played well, that group of kids as well as other kids from other programs (school teams) have an advantage over upstart programs with kids thay just started playing together. Not taking anything away from any of those School Teams, but let's state the obvious before we start applauding. I love the fact that those kids would rather play together instead of everyone choosing to run and load up a Houston Team. With that being said, let's judge these Teams for what they are. They should win most of their summer games if they have been playing together since they were 8-9 yrs old.

Big Cam you make a good point. Playing together for a long time does have its advantages but let's face it, you still have to put the ball in the basket. The fact is, they have some boys who can play.
