It was very sad to see my team come up short, but what a wonderful story of redemption.  This is why high school sports is so great, and the lessons learned from one half inning of baseball will last a lifetime. Congrats to LCM and specifically, fantastic job to Mr. Vaughn.

KP 0 Pearland Dawson 1 Pitchers duel.  PD scored its only run off a mis-played ball in the outfield.  PDs tall lefty has KPs bats off balance all night.  KPs pitcher was similaraly effective.

KP has a good running back, who is a straight ahead runner. The Oline has some size, but has been our quicked at times. The QB is a JR. who has a decent arm, but the game plan is run first, second, third, etc... DLine and LBS are quick, and can get to the ball but they really had trouble containing Montgomery last week. KP physically is much closer to the teams they are playing against due to having seniors, but still doesnt have much game breaking talent. Dayton should win big because they have much more playmakers, and should dominate both lines. KP's kicker was All-City by the Houston TD Club and has already kicked a couple of 45+ yarders. He is a JR and his being heavily recruited.

They had at least 350 yards probably to KPs ~100. KP intercepted a pass for a touchdown in the second quarter, and couldnt move the ball well all night. Dayton had the ball first and goal with under 3 minutes to play, but could not score. KP gave up a safety with 40 seconds left to get the free kick. After the free kick, Dayton ran 3 plays, but never threatened.

Kingwood Park will not move up in class. There is no room for population growth inside the boundaries. Humble may move down. It depends where the cut off will be. Isn't New Caney is supposed to drop to 4A also next year.

As with Goose Creek, Kingwood Park returns their entire varsity roster.

Congrats to all the kids!! Lots of underclassmen on the list. The upcoming years should be fun!

The Summer Creek Website says Brent McDonald is the baseball coach. Summer Creek Coaches "Baseball-Brent McDonald Graduate of University of Houston 16 years coaching experience/8 years as Head Coach, Cy-Falls High School 7 years playoff experience as Head Coach Regional Semi-Finals 2001, 2002; Regional Finalist 2004, 2005 Coaching Record: 202 Wins - 66 Losses" KP's Varsity Assistant is leaving and the JV coach will not be coaching at all next year.

Due to heavy rains in Humble, game has been moved to Baytown Lee at 7:00 pm.

At least the Varsity games will be made up, and the playoffs will be completed. Sub-Varsity athletes just lost their last games.
