  1. Memorial, but I support all local High Schools and I wish our new coaches the best of luck. I was curious to know why you had to make the comment about Port Arthur picking the wrong coach. I think that was a comment you could have kept to yourself. Especially with the amount of kids that read this site.
  2. Memorial-31 Central 10. Its no secret Stowers was the key to Centrals success last year. No Stowers equals trouble for the jaguars.
  3. PA did not get banned and there's always two sides to every story. They chose not to compete in any more league games. Please state facts and not assumptions Dz3ii. One fact is Memorial only had 4 starters there. They beat PNG without there top 3 WR's (Nate Davis, K'Sean Wesley, and Shaq White). As for Central we will settle that match August 28 in Beaumont, when the pads are put on.
  4. Memorial has a freshman by the name of Nate Holmes, he's 6' and by far the fastest kid in the school. He led the freshman team to a district championship, and that includes a victory over North Shore.
  5. Memorial vs. Aldine 2003 @ Galena Park stadium. Aldine lead 34-7 at the half, majority of our fans left at halftime. Memorial rallied to win the game 41-40 behind a great second half by Jamaal Charles. I was one of the few fans that stayed and it ended up being the best game ive ever seen.
  6. 1. WOS 2. PAM 3. Dayton 4. West Brook 5. Nederland 6. Silsbee 7. PNG 8. Newton 9. Vidor 10. Lumberton
  7. I was out watching the games today and I was impressed with all the teams. PAM vs. PNG would have been great, hopefully we will see that Thursday. I know everyone thinks I am bias towards Kenny, but the kids seem to love playing for him. Kenny is going to turn our program around. Im looking forward to August.
  8. I'm not the goat, but I can assure you things are looking up at memorial. Kenny has done an awesome job of surrounding himself with some good coaches. I was at the scrimmage last week and both the defense and offense looked very good. We have a big time coach in Nelson Barnes (Defensive Line). I look for the defense to be solid this year. I can't wait until August.
  9. I agree with you ozensfinest, Boutte is responsible for hiring both Kenny and Verill Young (lol). I applaud PAISD from hiring Boutte, I think he's going to be a great mentor for Kenny. But I persononally know that Brown and Harrison made an agreement back in february 08 with the hopes of Kenny getting the job in the near future. But all that is irrelevant, im just excited about what i saw yesterday. I'm praying that Harrison and the coaches do a great job of motivating and molding our kids into productive young men. See you in PA week two.
  10. Kip McFarlin (Run Game Coordinator/QB Coach) graduated from nederland in 1989, and played tightend for Texas Tech. I was out to watch practice yesterday and it looked very organized and intense to me. Tony Brown is a great addition for the kids, and the defense was flying around. I've also heard that were getting Nelson Barnes as a D-Line coach. He coached at the University of Texas while Harrison was there from 94-96, he also won a national championship as a D-Line coach on Tom Osborne staff at Nebraska in 1997. Harrison is also trying to bring in an local X-DC to help out on defense. Looks to me like he's surrounding himself with good coaches. Good Luck to Harrison and OUR TITANS .
  11. I think Kenny Harrison would be an excellent choice. The kids love and respect him and I guarantee you they will play there behinds off for him. I've also heard some of the names of the coaches he wants to bring in if he gets the job. From my understanding one guy is very energetic and and will have the defense flying to the football. Rumor has it that he will fit right in with our kids down here LOL. The other two guys have been successful coordinators in the past and one has been a head coach. I have one question for the KRH haters, what will y'all say if PAM is in the third round of the playoffs next next year?
  12. Hold up 85 I played for BONE in the early 80's and he wasn't that bad LMAO. Well not when I was there. We played smash mouth football, as a matter of fact 12 and 13 dive was basically our only two plays LOL. I surely thought you would be a fan of old smash mouth Joe.
  13. My issue is not with Suggs coaching ability, my son was a sophomore at Lincoln when Suggs was there, and I think he did a good job. But I want a coach that has an invested interest in our kids and community. If we were to hire Suggs in PA, he would be gone the first time he went deep in the playoffs are when a new school opened in Houston. He and Stowers both proved that to be true. PAISD has 65% at risk students and the last thing our community need to do is put leaders in place that want be around to help build a foundation for our kids. That goes for all leadership positions in the district. I guarantee you that majority of the people that write on these blogs don't live in a community that reflects those stats. Outside people comment on what they think PA needs but if your not living here seeing what's happening with our kids you have no idea, and trust me 2 or 3 winning seasons and a departure is not the answer. Were in a battle down here trying to save our kids from the streets. I'm more concerned about saving OUR youth than helping someone use the system as a stepping stone for a better job and more money.
  14. The Stowers departure only solidifies my beliefs, and it comes as no surprise. Anytime you bring a guy in from the outside you get an average of three years out of them. Suggs was an exception at Central he stayed one year before he left for more money. We want someone here that wants to build a program and not someone who wants to come in looking for the next best job. Stowers was a great young coach but he had no ties to Beaumont Texas and it was only a matter of time and money before he left. We often forget that high school football is about the kids not us fans in the stands are the people that log on to these blogs, our time has come and gone. If Central would have hired a home grown coach (Fontneaux, Nelson, or Washington) are someone that has an invested interest in the community they wouldn't be looking for a coach today. It's em barssing for a high school kid to spend 4 years in high school and play for three different coaches. I've also done a little research for SFA 85. Did you know that 3 out of the 4 state champions in 4 and 5A (Allen, Lake Travis, and Sulphur Springs) play SISSY BALL, and Wylie lost to Katy in the Div. 2 State championship.
  15. He's definitely going to have to reestablish himself over a period of time. It's to much of a risk for any school district to take a chance on him as a head coach, especially PAISD. Maybe in his hometown if one of those jobs come available in the near future. I don't see him getting a second chance in PAISD with all the other things going on in the district. Both the media and the community would eat a school district alive if anything went wrong.
  16. I don't doubt that he's a good coach but we can't afford anymore negative attention. From my understanding he's a West Brook graduate, and a great guy. I wish him the best of luck elsewhere. Do you think Png will give him a serious look?
  17. Arthur Louis had his chance at Ozen. He could never beat Nederland or Png, and for the record he's currently the WR coach at West Brook. Jeff Nelson is serving as the OC with Craig Stump calling the plays. I'm also curious to know why is Chuck Langston name surfacing as a strong candidate for the PAM job. Is this the same guy that was listed on the Png list for being fired from The University of Central Oklahoma for major violations? If so he's not in position to demand anything from PAISD. You can look for him to throw his name in every job opening that comes available.
  18. Well if you have so much knowledge, and your the spokesperson for Port Arthur people. I'm now supporting you as the next Head Coach at PAM (HA HA). That's if Jerry Jones or Notre Dame doesn't get you first. I'm done with this debate, it's just a little to personal for me. Take care and good luck 85.
  19. You have lived in Beaumont since 1991 and don't know where you should vote (LMAO). News flash you are a Beaumont resident therefore you should vote there. I'm not trying to be funny but if you didn't know that answer, what qualifies you to judge Harrison and who should be the next coach at PAM. As I stated before I was only voicing my opinion on Kenny Harrison a home town boy that is back in his community trying to make a difference, when you started making personal and derogatory comments against him. I pray that you do the right thing for yourself and stop breaking the laws and rules that has been set for all Americans. If you don't loose your right to vote, hopefully BISD will see you at the polls in may.
  20. With that being said I guess we need to find out if 85 is enlisted in the military. Would you like to answer that for us 85, are should we research it on our own?
  21. LOL. First of all Kenny Harrison isn't my boy. I was only stating my opinion as you were. The only difference here is that I live here and my taxes help pay the salary of PAISD employees. I've also voted in the last 27 PAISD board elections, and this year will make 28. Like PNG 1984 said on the PNG blog (If you don't live here don't worry about who we hire). The moral to that story is my opinion weighs a little bit more than yours. If I am not mistaken you help pay Carrol Thomas and the BISD salaries with your taxes so I will remember not to argue a BISD issue with you because your voice and opinion will definitely count a lot more than mine.
  22. That proves to me that he is a team player because i know for a fact he called every single play from 2002-2006, and ranked in the top 2 offensively 3 out of the 4 years. With that being said I watched John Harbaugh coach The Baltimore Ravens in the AFC championship game sunday, and he was the secondary coach with the Philadelphia Eagles just the year before. That means he didn't call one single defense, but he's one heck of a head coach. My son played for PAM the first two years of existence and he and all the kids loved and respected Harrison, and from my understanding nothing has change. In my opinion he has never been the problem at Memorial. I would be the first to tell him that he needs to surround himself with coaches that share the same vision he does, so he's going to have to make some tough decisions with some of the coaches that's there now.
  23. If hes such a great coach why aren't you pushing him for the Port Neches job? From my understanding he has his masters, and Port Neches is paying more than BISD.
  24. My hopes and prayers are with Kenny Harrison. Again as both a resident and taxpaying citizen of Port Arthur, he has my full support. He's a young man that went off to The University of Texas @ Austin graduated and came home to encourage our youth. PAISD can send a strong message by hiring Harrison. A message that Port Arthur can produce qualified individuals. I'm tired of people that don't live here telling us what we need.
