  1. ok,lets say 15-20 pitchers who struck him out per year were using performance enhancing drugs that added a little more break or 5-10 mph more on their fastball... this could go on and on and on.
  2. truth hurts....im kinda curious to think of the dirt he has on our present "role models".
  3. You do need explosion on your swing,BUT YOU STILL HAVE TO PUT THE BAT ON THE BALL THAT IS COMING AT YOU SOMETIMES AT OVER 90-100 MPH OR A BALL THAT LOOKS STRAIGHT THEN DROPS.ROIDS MIGHT HELP WITH STRENGTH BUT IT DOESNT IMPROVE YOUR ABILITY TO HIT A ROUND OBJECT WITH A ROUND OBJECT FLUSH.
  4. guess on certain counts as to whats coming, weightlifting, spending time practicing on that one aspect, gaining knowledge of the league and how certain pitchers have pitched you in the past with certain counts, etc, etc, all these things help with the inside fastball. c'mon man come with something that makes just a little sense instead of these weak arguements.
  5. Its ok to get bigger and better as your career progresses, thats a good thing. And roids or not they dont improve your hand eye coordination, you still have to have the ability to hit a baseball.
  6. So, what does that mean????Thats your proof,he wears a bigger hat? thats weak!!!!! Dude, why do you hate Bonds so much and what exactly is disgraceful about him smashing this record??
  7. I agree, he has yet to test positive for anything. I hope he crushes this record,he deserves it... Actually johnny I think the needle goes in you hip not your arm,but whatever.
  8. Should we lay the entire blame at the doorstep of the headcoach or should we place part if not all at the other part owner/ GM's doorstep???
  9. It amazes me how people cant control their vices for a few hours. It seems like this whole thing wouldve been a little better organized.
  10. You could see this garbage coming a mile away,excuses,excuses,excuses.... Bravo Coach Hooks!
  11. Moody to WOS From all accounts we need a new OC.
  12. You dont think given a full time spot the entire year Loretta could do the job at second? Also, Im a big Bonds fan
  13. What Im saying is, its time for a change. Theres no doubt hes a hall of famer, not on the first ballot though, but one nonetheless.
  14. alot of what moves the stros did or didnt make had alot to do with both biggio and bagwell abilities or lack of. i heard at one time kevin millar was a possible signing, but bagwell was still undecided so they missed out yet again. if bagwell was in a hospital bed somehow they would have him at first hitting third or fourth, it amazes me.
  15. depending on who the free agents were at the time.... dont forget they let kent(2nd baseman) get away. we could list an entire allstar team of players the astros failed to re-sign.
  16. if youre statement about watching is pointed at me then you should maybe redirect. i dont just watch baseball my man nor do i worry about stats, but numbers dont lie and you cant argue with them. also, so what if you watch baseball, so!!!! Does your ability to watch a game either at home or in person mean your opinion is correct???? Heres a few more facts.... If stats didnt matter they wouldnt be kept. Biggio's .282 lifetime average is the lowest of any member of the 3,000 hit club. His career On Base Percentage is .366, which ranks 327th on the all-time list. Despite hitting first or second his entire career, Biggio has only topped 200 hits once in his career, which is a sign that his journey to 3,000 has been more about longevity than excellence. He never won a batting title, and in fact, he only finished in the top 10 in batting twice in his career. He never led the league in hits, base on balls, times on base, RBI, home runs, steals, or On Base Percentage. He never won a World Series. He never won an MVP award
  17. Also, he only had one 200 hit season in his career! So is his 3000 hit milestone because of his talent or his longevity in the league????
  18. important stats????? mediocre at best.... Division series----93 ab's; 15 runs; 21 hits; 6 rbi's; 19 SO; .226 avg LCS----56 ab's; 5 runs; 14 hits; 4 rbi's; 7 SO; .250 avg WS----18 ab's; 3 runs; 4 hits; 1 rbi; .222 avg
  19. no doubt, biggio was and still is the leader, but his better days have long past him, change at second is long over due. dont forget, this game is decided by alot more than two players. Also, dont forget that all in all they did nothing in the post season. You dont think the sympathy money that was spent on those two couldnt have gone towards much better players??????
  20. Im glad he has decided to hang up the spikes. Hes given the stros many memorable moments, but his departure finally gives them the opportunity to either go out and get a quality second baseman or move Loreitta(spelling) to second and not have to worry about hurting anyones feelings. They hung onto to Bagwell and Biggio for way to long because of sentimental value and in the process lost out on alot of quality players.
  21. Did LCM all of a sudden get really good and only a select few know about it?? How would it not be considered an upset if the improbable did happen? Also..... It amazes me that a few on here has targeted the OC for his playcalling, yet I guess the realization hasnt hit that hes been around for a while. True, sometimes the playing calling leaves alot to be desired, but the seasons weve managed to put together with this playcalling some programs would consider huge accomplishments. But see, WOS football is held in such high regards throughout the state that if we finish the season with anything less than a state championship then somehow weve failed, and to be held in those regards says alot about the program, its coaches, and players.
  22. i love this debate..... why should you put an * by bonds???? please explain.
  23. yep...like i said this is old news that finally surfaced.
