  1. 20 years ago, southeast texas got alot more press and usually ranked higher. Just an observation.
  2. Does anyone have the stats from that scrimmage in Lufkin, last week?
  3. Colmesneil, Chester, and Apple Springs would be a nice pre season schedule..........
  4. My Favorite from Uncle Rico was.... "You know we can't afford the fun pack!...Take it back and get some pampers for you and your brother...."
  5. Jason cook nearly took the dome off of the quarterback at Arp during a scrimmage in 91, at Arp. Dude tried running around the end and Cook form tackled him and pretty much buried him in turf with extreme prejudice! If anybody was at that game that evening they remember.
  6. Yeah, they probably will. Garrison usually rises to the occasion. Did Cleveland move down to 3A? If I'm not mistaken, weren't they 4A for a while recently?
  7. You are right....that's why my alltime greats at Garrison include linemen too,,,check it out. Jason Cook from the 90's, Wayne Birdwell from the 60's and Murdoch Hooper and Donnie Phillips both from the 40's were all linemen,,,defense and offense. ...since at that time Garrison played "IronMan" Football.
  8. Uncle Rico! If coach would have put him in the fourth quarter, they'd a won state...
  9. This rivalry started in the 30's between Timpson and Garrison. The towns are less than 10 miles apart. For the first 50 years the rivalry was a very heated competitive one, with each school getting the "win", every other year. Fist fights at the games on the field, and almost always before and after weren't uncommon. The usual vandalism of the other towns water tower, school, field etc. were pretty much standard operating procedure back in those days. Some of the games were legendary. It's not as dramatic as it used to be since Timpson hasn't been competitve in years. However, it's still a pretty big draw in the area, and it's usually still standing room only. I'm hoping with Lucky Gamble at the helm up in Timpson things will get a little more interesting.
  10. I watched a Spring High School game against Klein Forest a few years ago and I liked the Spring High uniforms. Green and White, but the helmets were Green with that design like the Michigan Wolverines in white.
  11. Yep, that's Garrison. If you blink you miss it....but hey, it's home.
