Jusy to set the record straight, I knew it would be someone that would say we (BMT B) were not good sports about the game on yesterday.Americasteam88 I do not agree with you on putting in your slowest weakest kid and let them run up the middle. STJFL does promote safety, so you telling me to put in someones kid(s) thats not a runner and run him up the middle against the other teams ones? That will never happen because I would not have a response to the parents if he got seriously injured!!! Just saying :) I was holding my breath yesterday that no one got hurt while running our regular offense. We do not run a wedge so theres no reason to have my slowest kid run up the middle because we dont practice that play. We never said we were such good coaches we just have a bunch of kids that work hard and hard work pays off!! Just come watch one of the practices all of yall would see. Also there was a running clock in the second half for everyone who made a comment an wasnt at the game. This particular bunch has had some type of issue every week but we continue to coach our kids up, from the 60/40 rule: kids changing teams the day before a game, parents posting on this forum, and now the mercy rule. I am the head coach and i attempt to stay out of all the politics because i have my views and all of you sports fans on this forum have yours!! I was just informed on yesterday that the mercy rule was re-written, stating something about a premier player has to come out now. Who gives the titles to kids. The starting backfield is what i was familiar with, which consists of the 4 players that are no on the line. We are always hearing that a formal protest is going to made to the STJFL board about an issue thats has nothing to do with our kids nor coaches. If taken to the board we will not be able to participate in the playoffs!! Just letting everyone know, we can careless about winning a STJFL super bowl trophy!! Our goal is to develope kids that want to play this great game and Pee Wee winners does not mean sucess. Sucess is when you can see an Ivory Williams running professional track, Depauldrick Garrett, Branden Thomas currently playing for the Lamar Cardinals football team: Ex lamar players Andre Bevel and Ryan Clark and Jacoby Franks at Texas Tech, Londan Durham ex McNesse FB player, Chris Ragette current MSU players and  Earl Thomas an NFL Pro Bowl safety. Thats just to name a few of the good stories in this great game of football that I have had the plesure to coach!! Not bragging just making a point!! Lets just play football!

I agree with everything that has been posted on this thread!! I really feel that the spreads are really just for smack talking purposes for the adult fans. LOL Elhector I love your post, its all about the kids having fun and want to return. I have coached at various levels in various sports and having a kid call you coach at the mall, at high school football games, at the schools, and at practice is something you earn and you should be proud of it. If the kids try to avoid you than you have a problem. My own son gets upset because he cant get his time with his dady at other venues we attend because everyone wants to be around the coach!! He just ask questions and i ans them, such as why does everyone call you coach? my reply is "because they respect and appreciate what i do" There is nothing like being appreciated and respected in whatever you do. There are bad seeds in volunteer sports and thats where we as parents step in!! I can assure you if my son played for a bad seed i would know about it and it will not be tolorated!!! A bad seed to me is teaching/telling kids to play outside the rules of any sport. Rolling bats, late hits, and intentionally trying to hurt someone are just a few things thats outside the rules and my son will not be affiliated with such people/programs. One thing that I will bet on is that most of the bad seeds never played any sports past high school, because the ones who played at the next level knows the importants of sportmanship whether you like or dislike the opponent theres only one way to play the game and its the correct way. Ask BMT B what happens when they get a personal foul called on them in the game, such as blocking in the back and/or late hit!! Well i will tell you, the get ran real hard after practice for that bad decision and thats where respect is built!!! Not from giving that kid the game ball!!! Its all about what we teach as volunteer coaches!!! ENOUGH SAID!!!!

MOJO you might be right about my reading skills but I know for a fact BMT blew yall out 34/6 is a mercy rule. By the way i can count!!! MERCY take starting back field out!!! ;) NED BLK is a good team not great i never said they were not!!

Thats the difference between kids, because #1&#3 saw each other also over the weekend and they talk about their district wide social studies  project,football plays and watch film on BC R!! MoJo thats not correct, so please look it up!! BMT and PNG played the super bowl in the second round of the playoffs. BMT put up 40 something on PNG so i am not  real sure what you are speaking of when you say NED BLK scored more points!! No one had scored 40+ points on PNG. BMT did not play in the superbowl by the way, we scored 40+ on PNG but they scored more to beat us.LOL

Well lets just throw out a few facts; where do i start, well NED BLK is a very good team!! NED BLK went 5-4 last season and the BMT team beat them 34-6 at their place!!The other NED team went 2-7, so what has changed!! The BMT team had 15 7 yr olds. yes i do understand that both of the NED flag teams went undefeated. I am just a lil confused about this topic, because if BMT beat them with ease last year what really has changed in a year? Yes kids improve from day to day and kids are coached up on a daily basis also. So if NED BLK has improved what makes everyone think BMT hasnt improved. Everyone is correct, on any given Saturday a team can be beat!!! The game is won on the field and not on a sports forum, but everyone is entitled to their own personal opinion!! One thing is true, it will be won on the field by the kids not the parents!!! Now lets talk about the other discussion, LC may be a good team but they are playing in the small division because thats what everyone in ORANGE COUNTY wanted thats concerned with STJFL!! So lets speak facts, LC teams went a combined 4-14 last year and their flag team was 4-3. BMT beat LC G 36-0 last year, LC G went 0-9. The other BMT team beat LC W 14-0 last year, LC W went 4-5. I forgot something their toughes game this yr was against LUM R, BMT beat them 40-6 So lets just keep it real, they are where they belong in the small division!! I really wish big wouldnt have to play small since its been split. The only point i am trying to make is that on any given day a team can be beat but every team makes improvements and BMT B has made major improvements, such as no huddle the entire game, no coaches on the field except with the 7 yr olds bc we are developing a program not a team, and the defense and offense calling their own plays according to what the see across the line!! Not Bragging but you will hear about this bunch for a long time to come!!! ;)

You may be right, I was just stating my opinion on  how bad 7th grade football was in Beaumont!! I hope your area has a good 7th grade program!! Never said anything bad about STJFL, I hate when people take stuff the wrong way!!! I love the fact that I do not have to travel too far every weekend to play FOOTBALL, STJFL rocks!!! ;)

Your correct Crashdavis, youth sports are to teach and develope kids. So whats the problem when you have develope them when they were seven and now they are competing at a high level. 7 and 8 year olds play together and everyday in practice they are being developed and the rules state that you have to let them play. There are no kids on the FORUM its all adults so the kids are humble and respectfull in Beaumont! Its some adults that has taken things to far!! There is nothing wrong with a lil smack talking. I can assure you my son do not know i am on this BLOG defending him working hard in everything he does. My son has had the pleasure of playing baseball and running track with his friends from Lumberton and I promise you he has never bragged about any of his accomplishments/non-accomplishments!! I haven't raised him that way!! he fully understand that the LORD GIVE AND HE TAKE AWAY!!! The mantality of being competetive has changed throughout the generations, when I played one of my coaches said they have the opportunity to practice and work hard just like you so whats really fair competition!!

I understand excatly what you mean!! The 7th grade programs in Beaumont are terrible, cant speak for mid-county and Lumberton. First of all they only play for an hr regardless of the score because they have to be off the field by 630-645 so the 8th grade game can start on time!! I hope STJFL start allowing 7th graders to play on their senior teams because the it would increase the numbers and they can continue to develope for 8th grade football.

News Flash #1 3  5 9 10 13 Just been demoted to the twos. The hippy got to them because they were raised reading sports forums and they stated " its not how you start its how you finish" Thats what we teach never quit!!! LOL

I knew someone would take it the wrong way but since you went there lets go!! I never said a bad thing about the STJFL first of all and yes everyone has a mercy rule except some AAU Leagues. Every team has kids at the pee wee level that really dont want to be there so lets just keep it real. letting someone else play is not the problem, the problem is that same coach that you had mercy for now is trying to run over the kid that really dont want to be there. why didnt he do that before he was 28 down!! people like you want good teams/players in other leagues so you can get on and  bragg about something lil Johnny did!! its all for the kids so you say but when PNG G was putting 50 on people last year it was ok! Than you get personal, I can promise you my kid will compete with yours in anything from manners to the classroom and thats the way i raised him. Sports is just something we like its not our life and thats the way I raise him, anything else!! Be ready to explain to him why he didnt get that job he interviewed for when he gets the "we went in another direction" let him know its always about competing whether you believe it or not. Your right i have a hard time explaining to mine that being a loser is ok, that may be the difference between yours and mine!!! I just threw the OBAMA stuff in there because its all fun and games to me!! Well just for kicks and giggles i will start the twos and finished with the ones!!

Thanks for understanding Gucci. Its not fun when you have to explain to your kids that they must come out of the game because of the mercy rule, which i totally have no problem with. Well yes i do, the other team still continues to play their ones against the twos and thats the problem i have. Is the mercy rule to let the other team get back into the game? or is it to develope the twos so one day they can become the ones. From my experience it has allowed the loosing coach the opportunity to tee off on your twos with their ones and thats where the injuries come into play. Theres no real solution to a mercy rule because i dont think no coach practice being up by 28+ points and if they do they are crazy or just plan cocky!! BMT G has a 7 yr old defense that plays every other series regardless of the score. Do you think they are coached to let people score on them, but we still have other teams with their ones still playing and they attempt to run our 7 yr olds smooth over. No juke move, no fall down, and no get out of bounds so should we have a mercy rule for the team that has put their twos in the game; like unsportsman like conduct etc. No because we call that good hard football, run someone over lil johnny your the man!! Just attempting to put all of this in order. The starting offense for BMT G average 12-15 plays a game!! Is that fair to them that the score quick! Life is not fair so being fair is a tough job for a volunteer coach!!! Its all about competing but for some reason we seem to lose that because of factors that have nothing to do with the kids. I watch a high school football game every Friday and the kids dont know how to win anymore!!SETX was know for their great football teams/players and I am assuming thats before any of these leagues were formed so lets not try to re-invent the system. A system has been put in place for years and it really does work!! Its called COMPETE and hard work pays off!! Not because daddy think you should win!!! Lets prepare the kids for the future and thats not OBAMA's fault either. LOL

Lets just set the record straight. The 60/40 rule is a joke because it is all deterimined by who registers to play football. Example, last year Beaumont Gold had 15 7yr olds and 3 8yr olds. Just through attrition they will have 15 8yr olds this coming year. Now back to my original statement. There were only 12 kids on flag last year in Beaumont and only 7 of those flag kids registered to play tackle. So with that being said you only had 7 7 yr old kids for two Pee Wee teams. The problem came when Beaumont had over 90% of the registered Pee Wee kids were 8 yrs old. So whomever thought this would solve a so called stacking/reverse stacking was totally wrong!! The Beaumont team had to lose 4 8yr old players the day before our first game in lumberton or not be able to make the playoffs. If you have forgotten BMT gave PNG G their best game of the year, yes they were mostly 7 yr olds. So PNG G just didnt run through the league last year they were well coached and the were good, just like Lumberton program, WOS program, and now the BMT program. BMT did not complain either about the 8 yr old mess. The small schools have what they want and if they are going to still complain take them off of the big school schools schedule!!! We would rather play a team twice than play under protest every game!! its hard to tell 7/8 yr old kids not to score when thats what they have been taught!! As a soldier thats fighting for our country, they have been trained a certain way and theres nothing the enemy can do or say about it!! So I would not call it classless if someone put of 50-80 on me because oviously they practice harder. Good players are made in practice, ask 1,3,5,7,9,10, 12,13,15,19,32,34,44,45,76 just a few of the studs, like some people have referred to them as.Studs are made in Practice!!

Hey JP, I am not smashMouth!!! I told you that on several occasions, Everyone knows who I am its not a secret because I dont talk trash on these Blogs!
