  1. Yes the medical hardship is what we are trying to get passed. And like I said before, forget the money, that's not what we are after. She just wants to play

  3. Hello everyone. I'd like to introduce myself. My name is Wes Knippers and I am Whitney's brother. You'll have to pardon me on the exact details, as I live all the way in California, and the only details I get are by phone. Many of you might know Whitney as she plays for Bridge City High School girls basketball. Unfortunately, Whitney has been denied the right to play basketball for the Lady Cardinals this year per UIL rules. They have stated that she is not eligible to play because according to their rules, a student cannot play for a school for more than 4 years. Whitney has sort of landed in the gray area as she transferred into BC her sophomore year and with the credit difference between California and Texas standards she was held back a year. However, upon doing so, the school system promised her that if she took a few summer courses that she would be able to play basketball throughout her high school time span. So, she did. She has kept up her grades in school and is an excellent student. Her coach and team lovers her, as well as her teachers and staff of BCHS. They are all very upset at UIL for this ruling and are fighting it as well as they can. We are attempting to get attorneys involved, but it's a bumpy road because many of the attorneys are telling her that she should get awarded money (forgot the technical term for it). Well, Whitney is not after money. That's not what she or any of us want. She just wants to full fill the promise she made to her dying father 3 years ago that she would play basketball throughout high school and try her best to get a scholarship to college. UIL is making this impossible and we really feel that they haven't even looked at her case. Sort of one of those "denied" then throw it in the stack of papers to the side. I am asking all of you to show your support by signing the below petition I've created. Thank you for taking the time to read this and if any of you have any questions/concerns etc... I'd ask you to send an e-mail to Kelli Knippers (Whitney's mother) as she can give you in depth way more details than I can, since she and Whitney both reside in the Bridge City area. Her e-mail is: [email protected] --------PETITION LINK BELOW-------- [Hidden Content] Again, thank you to her coach, her team, all of the BCHS Staff, friends and family for your continuous support!!!! -Wes Knippers [email protected]
