I spent many hours in the trenches of girls softball with chuck McClain. I can tell you this much, he was a good man. He was a guy you could count on. He was dedicated to his family and the kids he coached. He was smart, funny, hard working, dedicated and I don't know anyone who did not like him. It's often said that the proof is in the pudding, his kids are prime examples of that. This is a good family and Me and my family are just tore up about this. I don't know what else to say but My heart is broken right now. Steph, chelsea and Jessica, y'all are in my family's prayers. I was the coach on third that game. That was a bracket game in a USFA qualifying tournament. I will not apologize for our team winning any game. I'm sure there are lots of teams out there that would love to beat us 20-0. They get their chance every time they step on the field with us. You have just as much time to practice as we do! Like it was said before, it's called select ball for a reason. Your girls had to work for those outs and I'm sure that they learned something from that. My suggestion would be to practice your pitching everyday and / or warm up another pitcher earlier when your in a game like that. The score was 17-0.
