  1. Capt Claude will definitely try to win. But, when he does get up in a ballgame he will try to lay off. He has trouble doing this due to the size of his squad. With only 13 kids it's hard to slow the game down and not score. He does a good job of this. He proved that in his first game of the year. He also could have beat me 70-0 last year but stopped at the mercy rule and let me play football. Sometimes scores have gone higher than the mercy rule but this would be in a situation where the opposing team was not coached very well and the team suffered for it. I know for a fact Capt Claude is not out to run the score up. But you still better be ready to play! Marty Marion
  2. Well, I see Como is on the scene. I think we will have a great game tommorrow no matter what the score is. Our kids match up well and if we can keep them from turning things into a MMA bout things will be even better. I suggest we talk to my tall boy and your son before the game and tell them both no fighting. For some reason those two continually seem to get tangled up. We need to keep a close eye on that tommorrow. You know Como, now that I've gotten to know you I think you're an alright dude. Later, Marty Marion
  3. Good to see you back! Capt Claude has a gamplan for you I am sure. Hope your house turns out ok. Marty Marion
  4. How could I possibly be sandbagging. I am just simply being honest when I say we have been unable up to this point in the season to score points and stop the opposition from scoring. H-F scored 20 points on us and we scored none. In the jamboree H-J scored on us and we scored none. We are strruggling offensively and now I can't even get key players to practice. If our season doesn't turn around some this weekend I probably will lose even more kids. With this being the truth I do not see how I can be sandbagging. Marty
  5. Don't try sandbagging on me Como. You lost 1 game to a good Silsbee team and we lost 1 game to a good H-F team. I think we match up well and you know it. Besides that I have four starters (12 year olds)I haven't seen since before the storm. Even if they show up I can't play them in front of kids that have practiced all week. Marty
  6. MYFA is looking foward to the games this weekend. Our Juniors and Seniors play Vidor. They should be a couple of pretty good match-ups from what I have seen up to this point in the season. Hopefully these long delays between games won't hurt us too much. I know Como will be ready to rock. I just hope we are. If my Seniors suffer another butt whopping like H-F gave us, I might want another hurricane. Anyhow, looking foward to seeing how we stack up against Como this weekend. Marty Marion
  7. Yes, I have been away for a couple of hours and my how things have transpired. I don't care who you are TC, all I know is you are a busy man and keep things interesting. I do believe Barry is hot on your trail. I just hope for your health's sake he doesn't catch up with you. Keep Stickin, Jukin, and Moving Buddy!
  8. No changes have been made to any LJF schedules due to Hurricane IKE as it is now. I am sure if the storm starts to make a track that is more threatening to Southeast Texas the LJF board will make decisions along with each association to protect and ensure the safety of the players and fans. In the event that the storm does cause game cancellations the board does have some re-scheduling in mind and would be prepared to do that if neccessary. Marty Marion www.leaguelineup.com/golonestar
  9. No, not today. I just have to remember to stay politically correct and stay on the topic at hand. Sometimes my fingers (like Como's) just go in a different direction. I don't know how it happens, it just does!
  10. They must be under a rock TC. I know there have to be some worldly issues that need solving and I feel we are the group to do it. Come on Como,Larry,Barry,Claude,------------Where are you? I'm right here in cyberspace waiting!
  11. Where's everybody at today? It's starting to get kind of boring.
  12. I think some people are taking things a little too far on this forum. Mauriceville did get soundly beat 20-0 by a solid H-F football team. No we are not crying as the coaching staff from H-F showed alot of class as the game ran out by kneeling the ball and running the clock out. I do not think it is proper to try and score more points when you can end the day with a win and go home. I feel you also have to remember these are volunteers that sometimes get wound up in the excitement of the moment. I unfortuntely have done this myself. As I have started gaining more expierence as a coach I hope I never do it again. This type of scoulding is what you open up to yourself and your organization when you forget the big picture "The KIDS"! Also, as a critic of H-F's MPR practices I would like to state for the record, " I WAS DEAD WRONG AND APOLOGIZE ". Larry had the best system for playing all his kids that I have ever seen. All kids were basically played by halftime! And if you think his big roster is going to hurt him you will be just as wrong as I was. On another note there was not one piece of trash left on the visitor sideline of our field. There was plenty that my parents and fans left. Congrats to Larry and his staff. All I can say is I hope to see you again this year with a more prepared ball team! Thought for the Moment - Nothing cleanses the soul like getting the hell kicked out of you! 13. Hmmm! Very quiet today. Is this the calm before the storm?
  14. Got scoulded, had to quit! Maybe later? Marty Marion MYFA
