    Nederland is really young. We started 4 sophs and 1 sr. Of the 9 boys that played, 3 were srs. and 6 were sophs. We've got a long way to go, but with coach English and a lot of hard work, we're gonna get there.

    The Ground Zero Elite 9th/10th Grade Boys Basketball team finished play Sunday in the Prime Time Sports Nationals in Dallas. They finished the tournament in Fifth Place with an 8-1 record. There was 70 teams in their division. They have boys from Ozen, Westbrook, Nederland, West Hardin, and Willowridge. They are coached by Bernard Boyd of Beaumont. www.primetimesportz.com

    Great American Shootout in Denton finished up today. There was close to 300 teams and some 400 college coaches and scouts in attendance at this NCAA sanctioned event. Beaumont's Ground Zero Elite 9th/10th Grade Boy's team finished 7-1. Their only loss was in the championship game. There was 64 teams in their division. They have boys from Ozen, West Brook, Nederland, West Hardin, and Willowridge.

    9th grade boys took 1st place in their division - East Texas Shootout in Tyler last weekend. They are based in beaumont, but have boys from Ozen, West Brook, Nederland, West Hardin, and East Chambers.
