  1. 2: I will pass along the words to C-More. You guys need to take care of business this week and weeks to come. Chris is gonna try to scoot over to DP to watch on Thursday night. Also: Jerry Hunsinger was on the news trying to locate the color man from Saturday's BC-BH game on the radio. He is looking to make changes in the booth and is after that down home country honesty
  2. BC 2 BH 0 Tight game so far. Not sure what inning.
  3. Huffman in driver's seat still. Hudson does not have the pitching to withstand 2 games. Listi throws game 2....which of course, we have to win to get to game 3. Game 3: Arnold for Huffman. Bagley only threw 60 pitches. He can relieve. Belt threw 116 pitches. No matter how much ice they packed on his arm; he will not be as strong coming back today in game 3. If we make Belt throw strikes last night....he walks a ton of kids. He threw very well....no question. But our selection on pitches to swing at was horrible.
  4. Most of our team has faced Belt in summer ball. It will be a good match-up. There is certainly no fear or intimidation. Bagley threw 90 in the 7th inning; after only getting one inning work in 3 weeks. We like the match-up. Like Hudson, our players like the faster pitching. It is more of what they are accustomed to seeing in the summer and fall. Like Jasper, their coaching staff wanted a one game format and lost the flip. In addition, they wanted a Thu-Fri-Sat format rather than Fri-Sat; they also lost that flip (a championship needs to be about more than one pitcher).
  5. Had to chuckle today as we were visiting Beaumont for Mother's Day; and a maroon Ford small SUV type vehicle came up beside us (our car decorated with Huffman jargon); and the passenger mooned us. It was funny. For those in Jasper it was TX License Plate D6M-DP3. Two points of interest about the butt: 1. It did not have a hair 2. There were nine spikes in it that appeared to match the configuration of the Nike Shox that Huffman wears
  6. Sports photos of the Woodville-Huffman baseball game can be viewed online at www.PerfectShot.com www.PerfectShot.com
  7. For those planning on going to the game....there is a very good local establishment for breaking bread called Zack's. They have great food....very good atmosphere. Lots of TVs with sports going. I have never gotten a bad meal there. Alvis came over after the game and was visiting with our boys that were there. What a nice young man. He can flat hit the ball, as can many others on the Jasper team. He has played for a couple of years with one of our players on the Columbia Angels....and against many of our players on other Houston area select teams.
  8. After watching the Jasper - Rusk game last night...it will not get ugly either way, in my opinion. Huffman does have significant depth at pitching. The ace from Huffman was out most of the season with a broken foot. He returned after 6 weeks off and was consistently at 92 mph on his fastball. The select players in the area have faced him and know well he throws smoke that moves...and has a deadly curve and changeup to compliment. The workhorse for the season is a RH junior that is also very difficult to hit. His only loss came in extra innings after throwing a CG against West Columbia....by a hit in the bottom of the 8th...lost 2-1. It should be fun. Interesting to note that Jasper insisted on a flip for the game format as they wanted a one game do or die. if this one goes 3 games....I say Huffman will take it. However, being a Huffman fan....my expectations are simple....let's win one playoff game...and then take them one at a time.
