  1. How many players on offense/defense are returning this year? You guys did a great job in stopping TC's Johnny Thomas. What was the defensive scheme?
  2. The Clash of the Causeway....... 5A Galveston Ball vs. 4A La Marque
  3. Was Ryan Butler a running back? Ran by us in La Marque, great speed.
  4. The ERA of seven consecutives playoffs by La Marque v Corpus Christi Calallen, all WON by the Coogs.
  5. If they have those refs that called the playoff game against La Marque for the entire season Lum ber ton should win State.
  6. When Coog Nation replies that the talent is down, we mean experience, the speed will always be in La Marque. All our JV's were taken off the varsity and placed on the JV squad for reasons unknown. If you look at the 9th graders you would think they are 11th and 12th graders, they are just that huge, but that does not equate to playing on a varsity level. Coach Nuemann or Coach Vincent would be good choices, further more if Coach ErWIN had coached last year's team the outcome I'm sure would have extended more than two rounds in the playoffs, so DOWN does not mean having a down year it will be experience. Coach Nuemann or Coach Vincent will WIN a State title in La Marque.
  7. Hey, Penny when Nederland came to La Marque, I've forgotten the year but Nederland's running back was faster then lighten, we had a hard time trying to contain him, when the players tried to catch him, AIR was already crossing their faces.
  8. We don't think that it matters about head-to-head playoffs appearances, La Marque considers going four rounds deep into the playoffs. If it's a matter of coaching experience Coach Nuemann gets the job hands down, if La Marque is looking for a former player then Coach Suggs gets the job. Again, Coog Nation for years has great R E S P E C T for the Nederland program, he may not have the talent but that is what stands out the most is what he did with less, La Marque may be in this position in '08. Surely, Central and Lincoln had football players that made other teams look as though it was a track meet.
  9. Cougar Fans thought the 1997 State Football team didn't have a chance at anything, they looked horrible, but somehow Alan Weddell got them together to win a 3-peat. Nuemann will win a State Championship at La Maque, may be back-to-back. Playing a tough pre-season is nothing new for the Coogs, everyone knows the key is a great Head Coach and his assistants. History repeats itself, we hope he gets hired April 2nd. ErWIN ring a bell. Good luck to him!!!
  10. Coog Nation would love to have Coach Nuemann, his coaching abilities and his teams have always had the highest respect when we play the Nederland Bulldogs. They are more than a quality opponent and very disciplined. We think our starting salary of $93,000 - $97,000 is comfortable along with incentives, but 15 years of coaching experience should net him six figures. Whoooosh!
