OUR FRESHMAN TEAM PLAYS ALL THEIR POOL GAMES IN "GYM 3", ANYONE KNOW EXACTLY WHERE THAT IS?

I couldn't agree more!!! How often do you hear people ending a phrase or question with a preposition? It's not "Where is it at?", it's "Where is it?" It's not "Where are you going to?", it's "Where are you going?" Regardless of what may be taught in school now, it's still gramatically incorrect. One more that gets me, it's not "I could care less", it's "I couldn't care less." If you could care less, then whatever the subject may be, it obviously has struck a nerve & is somewhat important to you. I'm sorry, but these are just pet peaves of mine. Im sympathetic to your position, but I also think that the preservation of the vocabulary and grammatical forms of the English language, as we learned them, is a lost cause. Your and Youre, To and Too and Two, Their and Theyre and There, etc.there are fewer and fewer people who know the difference, and probably even fewer who care. And I dont know how many times Ive heard supposedly educated commentators make statements like, Your facts are wrong. I was once up for jury duty and listened in dismay as a lawyer, of all people, told us certain facts would be presented during the trial. And if selected for the jury our job would be to decide whether or not those facts were true. Gee! Where I grew up having to decide if a fact is true was kind of like having to decide if the color blue is blue. I wish I had raised my hand and asked the lawyer to give me an example of a fact that isnt true. Maybe Ill do that next time, even though I still think its a lost cause.

Sure, you're tied at the top right now, but after the next two Fridays, you'll no longer be there. And before you go running your mouth about "but...but...at least we're going to playoffs", there is nothing sure yet. It's all but over. HF is looking at a long road to get to the playoffs, but to think that right now you playoffs wrapped up, makes you look like the... Horndawg do not worry, while HJ will more than likely make it to the Playoffs they will GO ONE & DONE. They will have to play Coldspring or Cleveland. Cleveland has already spanked them pretty good at the beginning of the season. And if HJ is one & done in the playoffs, then what does that say about the HF football program? Not only did you not make the playoffs, you lost to a team that went one & done. Keep talking.

I guess I just expected repeated trips to the state championship out of WOS once they dropped to 3A. I remember losing to them when they were 5A & we were getting it handed to us while I was @ B-C-P. Then they drop down to 4A & still win a state title. I guess I was like most people in this area & assumed that once they became a 3A school they would have a monopoly on the state championships based on their success at the 4A & 5A levels. Obviously, that's not the case. Well, they were in the state semifinals in football two seasons ago. They went three rounds deep last year. As far as other sports, I believe we were in the state semis for basketball just two years ago. Right? What the heck are y'all talking about?

AS MUCH AS I WOULD LOVE TO SEE HJ SHOCK THE WORLD BY WINNING, I JUST DON'T SEE IT HAPPNIN'. I KNOW HJ WILL KEEP IT CLOSER THAN LAST YEAR'S BLOWOUT, BUT IF THE HAWKS GO WITH THE SAME CONSERVATIVE PLAY CALLING ON OFFENSE AS AGAINST HF, IT WILL BE AN EXTREMELY LONG NIGHT. THE PLAYBOOK REALLY NEEDS TO BE OPENED. ON A SOMEWHAT DIFFERENT TOPIC, AFTER READING & ENDURING THE DOMINANCE OF W-O-S IN DISTRICT 21-3A, WHEN ARE THEY GOING TO WIN SOMETHING OTHER THAN A DISTRICT TITLE?

Hawks have not clinched anything just yet. There is a scenario that could leave them out. The only way would be if Silsbee loses to HF!!!!! I will be pulling for the Tigers in that one. There are 6 teams. They beat 3 of them and the worst their record will be will be 3-2 and HF, OF and BC will not have a better record than that and HJ will have the head to head on all 3 of them. Besides once HJ beats Silsbee it will be irrelevant!!!! ;D ;D ;D In the case of a three way tie, it would then go to points. Right now HJ is a +9 and HF is a -9. If HF beats Silsbee by 10 and Silsbee beats HJ by 10 or more, that would leave HJ out of the playoffs with a -1 or more point total. HF and Silsbee would advance with their respective +1 and even or better point total. I only brought this up just to show that nothing has been clinched. I believe Silsbee will win out and HJ will go as the third place team. THERE IS NO WAY HF BEATS SILSBEE, SO HJ GET READY TO EXACT REVENGE ON CLEVELAND!!!

I DIDN'T REALIZE BOTH JACOBY & TREY WERE 6' AND OVER. THEY CAN CERTAINLY OUT JUMP ANYONE THEY COME ACROSS. I JUST HOPE THEY HAVE ENOUGH MEAT ON THEIR BONES TO KEEP OPPOSING FORWARDS OFF THE BLOCKS. Ricossa is 6'4!!! Turner (6'0) and Burrell (6'1) both play bigger than their listed height!!! Benard is about 5'7 and Gustafson is about 5'7 also.

I KNOW OF ONE HJ KID THAT HAD HIS COLLAR BROKEN IN THIS GAME, BUT IF FOOTBALL03 IS CORRECT AND KELLY JUST PLAYED FRESHMEN & SOPHOMORES, THEN IT WAS AGE WISE A MORE EVENLY CONTESTED AFFAIR. Why has the original post been deleted? Are the facilitators of SETXsports personally connected with HJ coaching staff. The original post expressed concern over the incompetence of HJ coaching staff allowing and promoting the game of HJ freshmen opposing Kelly JV players. Some HJ freshmen players were injured (some severly) and the game should not have taken place. It was an incompetent decision on the part of HJ coaches to place their freshmen players on the field to oppose Kelly players with 2-3 yrs experience,ability, and size.

YEAH JACOBY HAD A HECK OF A GAME. IT WOULD JUST BE NICE TO BE ABLE TO HAVE THOSE TWO PLATOON @ RUNNING BACK. Even if Trey isn't 100%, HJ still has a fantastic backup Turner that ran 4 amazing touchdowns last week.

SOMEWHAT UNDERSIZED IMO, BUT YOU WON'T FIND A QUICKER LINEUP.

AFTER GETTING A COUPLE OF CALLS FROM SOME OF THE 9TH GRADE HJ PARENTS, I WAS WONDERING THE SAME THING. IT SEEMS PHYSICALLY THE HJ 9TH GRADERS WERE SEVERELY UNDERSIZED. AFTER TALKING WITH SOME OF THE KELLY STUDENTS THEMSELVES, THEY ADMITTED KELLY DOESN'T HAVE A 9TH GRADE TEAM. 9TH GRADE VS. JV IS ONE THING, BUT 9TH GRADE VS. VARSITY IS A WHOLE NOTHER BALL OF WAX. IF KELLY STOOPED THIS LOW, THEN CONGRATS, YOU MANAGED TO WIN AGAINST KIDS 3 YEARS YOUR JUNIOR. IF THIS ISN'T THE CASE, THEN YOU GARNERED YOURSELF A WELL EARNED VICTORY.

B-C will be the sentimental favorite & for good reason, but with the damage Sour Lake & the surrounding areas took, as well as the new attitude the HJ football program is embracing, I'll say HJ by 14.
