  1. Lake Travis 49, Dayton very little. Dayton has to many folks playing both ways and they are to small to win a state title.
  2. Dayton obvioulsy hasn't played to many good passing teams, and their defense is just to small for LT. Great season Broncos.
  3. Lake Travis' defense looks to be the difference maker in this game by shutting down Dayton's offense!

  5. Lake Travis' defense looks to be the difference maker in this game by shutting down Dayton's offense!
  6. I hope they win. Most people in Austin area don't like Westlake or the new Westlake, Lake Travis.
  7. Bad for the small, fast team, since Kyle Field is GRASS and LT is a big team with average speed. Their WRs know where they are going, but the DBs don't!
  8. 42-14 Lamar Consolidated vs Alamo Heights! Lamar hadn't played very many if any spread teams, and they were killed by the spread. Their front four could get no pressure, so AH controlled the ball, when they blitzed they got burned.
  9. Westlake and Connally held him under 50% completions and he tossed 4 INTs vs the Chaps. You guys have better speed, you just have to be phsyical and get after him, and don't allow any running game or kick returns. They don't take them all the way, they just get good field position. Is Nederland like Friendswood? LT is very much like Friendswood, but they pass more. Lake Travis has trouble with athletic teams, you will be held, so be ready. don't get in a shootout, you will likley lose, that means your defense is getting torched. They don't rely on defense, just SCORING!
  10. you lost to Friendswood, can you defense the pass? Lake Travis will toss it and run some to keep you honest. Opponents have given them big yards in the running game in the playoffs, not so much in the regular season.
  11. Yall have a great defense, but you have been playing a bunch of running teams. Lake Travis passes a bunch, more than Friendswood and yall lost to them. Yall better bring it!
  12. They are definitely and offensive minded team. They do onsides kicks, have great return teams and will always take the ball first if they win the flip. They will control the ball with the pass, they will take what you give them. Their players are sound, but not superstars or D1 players, save for OT and QB, maybe a LB. They have average speed, no burners on either side of the ball. Connally ran a 4-3 cover 2 zone in 06 and lost 20-13. They played well and punished the WRs and RB and gave up no big plays, but the Cougar's offense was WEAK and was shut out the second half. This year they had new coaches and a 4-2-5 man/zone scheme and got beat by the run and the pass, but they defensed the pass very well, but made their AVERAGE RB look all-state. The Cougars roughed up the QB and forced INTs, but lost 31-28 after being down 24-0. You guys can win the game, especially if you put up the points on them and can matchup with their WRs. Looks like you guys might have better team speed than they do, and that has been a weakness of theirs in the past. Connally usually has better DBs than they do WRs! They roll left alot, especially on 3rd downs to convert. QB is 6'3", although they try and say 6'4" and about 190, with 4.8 speed. They are not an option team, but they run it, with him mainly pitching and they do not zone read, although its in the playbook. They wanna keep him healthy to toss the rock. He mainly runs, when you give it to him, while in man, DL loses contain, and he takes off. None of their players go both ways, their OL and NG are big and their OL HOLDS very well, this has been the complaint ever since they have run the spread, and the refs will allow them to do so, so the best thing is to keep them off of you so that they can't get a hold on you! Running QBs have hurt their defense in the past, and YES they most definitely should have lost to VR, but they choked away a first and goal at the 4 by passing, when they are a good running team...
  13. New Braunfels was UNDEFEATED! They didn't play Lake Travis! Lake Travis barely beat P-ville Connally 31-28. Lake Travis lost to a weak Westlake team that was beaten twice at home by AISD teams.
  14. Former Connally QB Steven Sheffield threw 7 TD passes in one half in the playoffs in 9 attemps!
  15. Check out their website, they have an indoor practice field, a college weight room... They get all kind of media attention, win or lose, while better programs get no hype.
  16. Lake Travis has depth, none of their players play both ways and they have very good size, but not speed. They pass 80% of the time and only run when you give it foolishly or to keep your rush honest. The love running screens and they will roll Gilbert left alot to hit the WRs on comeback outs. Their defense is average and benefit from team being in the lead alot. They are not world beaters, Region 4 is just it's normal weak self this year. The Cavs did not face a single team with great speed and Beeville put up 43, and have only 33 players! Their coach loves to do onsides kicks and fakes vs poorly coached teams. They have good return teams, that set their offense up in good field position, so you gotta hustle, cover and tackle.
