What are we looking like at qb? You'd be suprised! With the sudden departure of Spikes, the Jags have not missed a beat! BJ (last year's JV QB) and Michael Richard (last years backup...who, I must admit has suprised me...he's cut down on his mistakes) are doing a good job battling it out! We'll get a real good picture of how things are gonna be with tonights contest! My Brother said, with the weather...don't be suprised if the Freshman and JV scrimmage at Central's HS Field @4pm and the Varsity go @ Babe at 6pm!
-
To quote T.O., "Getcha popcorn ready! Here we come!" Central has more than a few guys coming back, they have a lot of talent! You think about last season and tell me who they will miss? Frog was good, but didn't live up to the hype of his mag cover; you could maybe call out 3 or 4 names of SR's who graduated that made a difference. Just about all their key guys where Soph's or JR's...they now have that experience since those Soph's and JR's are now JR's and SR's. The OL is older and still together, they're stronger and faster! Don't be late! Freshman and JV start @ 4pm and Varsity get going at 6pm Dem Jags SOOOO SMOOVE!

The jury is still out! My brother keeps me informed and playing for Stowers in the past doesn't hurt either.

AMEN!! If the kid can't cut it then maybe the correct decision was made... Maybe he still could be a starting corner... Not corner...his getoff is a bit slow...that was one reason for him gettin pulled off the 4x100...but his offers have been at safety...b/c he's big and from the deep position he has a little more time to see it and react! Don't get me wrong, I hope he stays, but if he doesnt , the Jags won't loose any sleep over it! We've got so many athletes and if we can get the bigguns up front to move the LOS we'll run and move the ball like we should! Central coaches always push kids to do other sports b/c it makes Central better as a whole athletically! However, there comes a time when you have to make up your mind about what you want! If your teammates are sweating and working hard and the SR QB is not there...what kind of message does that send? Is he doing something more important? What could be more important than getting ready for that LaMarque scrimmage and week 0 vs PA? The coaches challenged the kid instead of babying him and I'm glad they did it! Football season is around the corner and my brother said he pulled this crap last summer too! Instead of working routes and signals w/ his team mates, he choose to do other things! Man, I'm itching for some football!
-
If he stays, great...as long as he accepts his role...b/c it is the team 1st! If he leave ther are others ready to step up! The Jags have core of young WR who can block and catch and are all over 6'1'' in ht...an d two young QBs who want to play! But like I said before, it ain't about size, you gotta have heart!

What up all! I been on vacation with folks and brother who is excited about play on the V for the Jags this season! Now let me set the record straight b/c some of the fact you dudes have been given are a bit skewed! Vic wants to leave b/c he wasn't getting the job done and I say Peace! If you don't want to be here Cya! Last season was his best and he played good in two games then got injured and came back and was showed promise at times! He had a good grab against ozen but he let Dugat do em all night against Dayton. He got a 5'9 qb biting at his heels ready for a shot...at the spring game BJ took the 1st team offense 80yds for the score! I smell fear! When you are susposed to be a big time recruit and someone is there to take your spot, you will either step up and play harder or coward down and quit! You tell me what's going on now? His play and potential have already set him up...he's got 2 D1 scholar offers and the funny thing is he's recruited at DB...so maybe Stowers might know a thing or two! Yeah, he ran summer track, but he ain't no burner...that 11.2 ain't impressing no one! JT, who was 3rd @ the state meet quit running track to focus on that weight room and football! Charlie, who runs a 21.1 in the 200 quit running summer track to focus on football and getting bigger for them Aggies! Two-a-days are about getting in shape and play polishing! The Jags offense still needs to get better as they have find out who is gonna lead the o! Size don't matter anymore...who wants it more is what counts! And I'll tell u this, it ain't the Richard kid...my brother said it was 4th and inches against Dayton and they called a play to the FB who had been killing them all night, when Richard tries to sneak it and gets stuffed! Just cuz the kid's got a great arm doesn't mean he a good QB...you gotta have that something else! The Richard kid didn't come in at QB the rest of the season, Vic was made the backup! There's another kid they are looking at b/c he will do things right! Understand, no matter how much you complain Central is gonna run the FB all night long! I talked to my boy at Nimitz and this is the offense they are running! Them Jags are commited to winning and winning at all cost, if the super star is feeling the pressure maybe he needs to move aside and let the real big dawgs eat at the table! Oh, now that feels better!

If you're being sarcastic, that's dang funny...Don't get me wrong...Dayton was good and they have some peices coming back...plus Big Green...but not toooooooooooooooo sure if they're Top 10 worthy! -
Central will be hosting the "Touchdown Tavern Football Camp" June 23rd-27th from 8am-4pm....meals will be provided and the ages are: 6 yrs old to incoming freshman! It will be at the Central Fieldhouse at 88 Jaguar Dr....my little nephew will be there! The cost is $10 with a T-shirt made available for an additional $10....so 20 bucks for whole week....can't beat that!

Central's Safety and senior to be Charlie Thomas made it official yesterday by committing to the Texas A&M Aggies...this has been one commit they have been after for a while. Charlie told me he has known for quite some time now that he would be an Aggie...Congrats C-Bone...now let's have a great Senior Season! :

Central's Spring Game!/June 4th 4:30

1st drive the White Off went 70yds for the score a FB dive up the middle! Then BJ went two yards to the left side and walked in the endzone after the push by that big O-Line. They traded 3 and outs for a while with big hits by Charlie Thomas and Jared "The Bus" Roberts who also filled in later on at FB. He jumped in for the Maroon team and marched them 50yds with him wheelin' it in all the way! Both QB's on the White Team look good...BJ had some big runs and completed a ball that came up short of the goaline. Victor ran over a few defenders as well with a big play on a 3 and 18 he came up only 2 yards short. There wasn't a lot of throwing but with the speed the Jags have in the backfield they moved the ball! The defense played real vanilla and still made a bunch of plays as guys were getting laid out on the sideline...it reminded me a good game of sideline pop! -

A lot of fun on yesterday! Some big hits and some dazzling runs! The White team which consisted of 1st Team OFF/2nd Def won 14-6 against the Maroon Team, 1st Team DEF/2nd Team Off. The Drumline from the best band in all the land was there along with the cheerleaders and we saw some good stuff! There were other coaches from around checking out the new look Jags! -

Top Quarterback's In The Area This Year?
obcowboy replied to AJ25's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
Watch out for Central's Victor Spikes who runs a 4.46 and has a heck of an arm! Also, look out for BJ one of the JV QB's from last season and two year Varsity Basketballer! -

It will be at Central on the Practice Field! They had to switch it for some reason...probably since it is the last week of school! So they can get equipment put back up before the 6th! -
After yesterdays practice the Jags will be having there Spring Game at Central June 4th @ 4:30pm...I will double check the time! :
-
Unless something has changed, I Stowers said because of the timing the game will be at Central and not Babe ;D
-
Central's game will not be on the 30th after all...expect something around the 4th or 5th of June! They have had to move practices around b/c of school functions!
-
That kid wasn't there....I think they said he was gettin his physical for the upcoming season! He should fit this scheme real well! ;D
-
Good strong arm...played some QB last season late against PN-G.
-
Victor Spikes is the 1st option! He is an athlete!
-
Should be that last Saturday in May, the 31st...I think! At Babe of course! ;D
-
Are you talking about that Air Force style O you guys mentioned earlier? ;D It looked good
-
Typical first day of pratice....a lot of hitting and plays being made all over the field! The defense was very spirited and fast and the offense looks promising! I was happy to see the coaches getting exicited as much as the kids after some big hits and crushing blocks. Of course there were some big runs and some good throws....all in all, Jags looked a lot better and found something to fit them! ;D
