  1. I believe it's their 8th State title surpassing Carrol and a few other schools for the Texas record.
  2. Celina will roll. They're just unstoppable this year.
  3. Newton ???.......There just that rinky dink ol' 2A team that has consistantly spanked that lil' hiney the last 15 times you've played. ...........Kirbyville will be great football team in 08 no doubt, however, no district championship with WOS or Newton in the district. Maybe they will get lucky and be aligned with Buna and EC. I'll pray for you guys tonight.
  4. :(Newton hasn't lost 3 games. Our record is 9-2 , with only 3A's crockett and carthage beating us by only one TD or less. Both teams made the second round of the playoffs, but i'm not sure how they did this week.
  5. I recommend soccer style since it would be a little less painful than usin the ol' toe punch 8)
  6. so you think kirbyville is just going to march right over newton and tatum if they move down?
  7. Yes Bobcat, your right. I did take it a little too far. Sorry for the wrong impression. Was just trying stir this thread. I have to say Buna played with class. Never once did they fail to go straight to the huddle after a tackle......................Sealy, that was around my kindergarten years so i'm not to knowledgable of it. Checked it out in the history though, 82-6. I guess we all need a little leveling once in a while.
  8. Buna demolished by newton by 45 and easliy could have been more. I'm sure EC and Hardin could have beat us out of the "powerhouse" of a district right?
  9. I'm sure the Buna fans who talked smack about how they were going to beat Newton in a close game would agree that the Cougars were clearly the better team. They "could of" beat the Eagles tonight, Newton just got lucky 55 times................. Never a game at all. I sure would like to here their excuse for this booty wooping. Newton had their second string quarterback in the third quarter. Buna's only TD came late in the game with second and third string D. Buna not even in the same league. Sorry if any feelings were hurt :'(
  10. marlin didn't make the playoffs. next week will be teague
  11. i got to give a shout out to my sam houston bearkats for knocking off bobby knight and texas tech tonight 56-54. Not quite appalachian state but still a great upset.
  12. gosh, thats harsh coming from a team in their own district. guess the truth hurts sometimes
  13. This is a good year for Newton football, and we all know what happens when things are clicking for Barbay. Newton won't take Buna lightly, and I guess the Cougar fans will come back down to earth when they're left scrathing their heads. Bad luck for Buna drawing us two years in a row. Probably somewhat close in the beginning, then Newton pushes the pedal to the floor. 24+.......... On a friendly note , those from Buna are gladly welcome to sit on our side next week against Teague.
  14. Yea it would be a good match up. Just wanted you to get the "Kirbyville would probably embarrass Newton about now" thought out of your head.
  15. Region 1 Sanford-Fritch (5-5) Muleshoe (9-1) Littlefield (8-2) Denver City (5-5) Merkel (6-4) Early (7-3) Kermit (8-2) Brady (5-5) Region II Henrietta (6-4) Godley (5-5) Grandview (8-2) Caddo Mills (10-0) Farmersville (8-2) Pottsboro Pattonville Prairiland Winnsboro (9-1) Region III Jefferson (9-1) Daingerfield (8-2) Tatum (9-1) Blooming Grove (4-6) McGregor (7-3) Teague (9-1) Newton (7-2) Buna (9-1) Region IV Salado (10-0) Hempstead (5-5) Hitchcock (9-1) Edna Universal City Randolph (10-0) Cotulla (5-5) George West (8-2) Santa Rosa (9-1)
  16. Newton was just being considerate and agreed to play on Thursday so Buna wouldn't have to wait all weekend to start b-ball practice.
  17. Hope the wildcats can put it together for their deepest run this year. Goodluck
  18. balla, we scrimmaged this year you know. in the game scenario, kirbyville didn't embarrass newton. i believe newton outscored kirbyville by a few........i'm waiting...... ya'll were the better team but.......
  19. Hotrodg, I'm not sure if I read it right. Did he say embarrass Newton?
  20. forgot to say that was the closest score out of the ten prior games
  21. With the successful football program Kirbyville has brought to the table the last few years, it would be a great game to watch. It certainly would add more meaning to a 2A district title for newton........I know that past history doesn't win a football game, but i wanted to throw some numbers out there. According to Bobcatfan4life, newton leads the series 39-22-1. However, newton hasn't lost to kirbyville since '89 winning 15 straight games . Also in that current win streak, newton has out scored kirbyville 556-100 8). I'm not saying kirbyville will be an easy win, just simply nothing will be handed to them on a silver platter in 2A like some of there fans think
  22. no doubt 24 aa was very competitive this year. the second and third place teams out of 23 will be greatly challenged by 24's teams however, the top team from 23 rolls on without a doubt
