  1. Do you mean Nederland????? But you are right.....Great Job!!!!
  2. There are a few things very good players have in common: 1. Attitude - There is a humility that these players have. I'm talking about confident and not cocky being a strong point. Realizing that I'm not perfect and I do not know everything, please coach me. Maybe the most important is if things do not go right for me. I'm not going to pout of show my butt, I'm going to deal with it support my team and learn form it. 2. Heart - There is a reason why the very good ones win BIG. They've invested large amounts of time to their craft. They realize they might not can do it own their own, but they will not go down easy. They are willing to make whatever sacrifice is necessary for the team to win. Magic Johnson is a great example of this...Could score but had a different kind of role.... 3.Commitment - This is what I believe kids may stuggle with the most. In this day and time, there are numerous distractions. Kids get satisfied with how good they are now, and do not see how good they might become. Burnout plays a part, but i'm not sold on this. I believe if kids get early attention, it tends to help them become satisfied of where they are.. In alot of cases, kids tend to lose their drive..... 4. Physical - The history goes back years..Those kids who have all the tools and do not have the others mentioned above. Hate to see kids who end up playing too early in the adult rec leagues..Texas was on ESPN vs UCLA the other night...I heard this young man was down at the PA league wearin out some old dudes.... does not really compare..Hope he reads this....It's not too late, at least not yet!!!!!
  3. adult league at his local ymca. I cant make that up either. I do agree with Dickie V he need to join the seahawks
  4. Jared Williamsos, vidors best player leaves the game three minutes in, with a knee injury. Tough lose if he is out for a while
  5. Not real sure about that last comment ozenfinest....Does it maybe hav something to do with something else?????
  6. Hicks could and would start for any school he went to. He is that good, end of discussion.
  7. your the one that brought it up, thats why
  8. dickie no one really gives a dam about lupa basketball program rt now.
  9. no, no maybe about it. Play the game
  10. Who is this kid?? Where is he from???? And yep, does he have any eligibility left...We'd love to have him if he can dribble , pass and shoot a little!!!!
  11. It's the same way alot of kids think they are going to be getting a call from the next level to come play. Most parents do not tell their kids how difficult it is to do that. But another problem is that the parents actually think their kid is good enough to play at the next level. It's the parents who were not engaged in athletics while growing up and now have kids who are playing, that usually have this problem. it's EVERYWHERE....CLUELESS about what has to happen for kids to get to the next level. Parents need to tell the kids to worry about the H.S. level first. If they get that call, great. But in most cases it is not going to happen. It'a a numbers game!
  12. Dickie one of your first goals, when you get Jacovin is to keep him and his father from arguing with the cops at 4 in the morning at your local waffle house. What a disgrace. No wonder no one will take him, but you
  13. just to watch yall play? cmon you dont think they watched anybody else.
  14. yes that is a big difference, bcity has 8 in the bball class, while vidor has about 20 or more in theirs
  15. so u are basically saying Lu wouldn't even need to play the complete game to win by 40??
  16. enough talent to give lamar u a push? u are being a little to silly now. no chance what so ever
  17. By the way..did Perk actually leave the floor on that picture of the dunk....the kid is large..but still remember when I dunked over him....
  18. One thing that every young kid can take from Perk, is the fact that of all the attention he received in High School and beyond, he has remained HUMBLE...CONTINUES TO TALK ABOUT WORKING TO IMPROVE...This is a quality many young -players lack and what also keeps them from reaching their full potential..It was fun to watch him last night and his confidence grow throughout the game....His agent should be fired up!!!!
  19. they will be in class or else they will be in shape or else he insists on 100 percent attendance at practice and in the classroom WHAT COACH DOES NOT? I sure hope there isn't many outthere
  20. wow, typical of dickie though
