Porter still has work to do but I still don't understand why everyone's underrating them so heavily. In district Porter and New Caney have played the exact same teams (Except Porter played Crosby and New Caney played Barber's Hill). Both teams won all their games and Porter beat a Crosby team that decimated Barber's Hill. New Caney even lost to Tomball Memorial before district, a team thats 4-4 and might not even make the playoffs. I believe it's going to be a great game based off of what I've seen watching these two teams, I'm just wondering why people are so reluctant to classify Porter as a good team.

QB: Both quarterbacks are in the discussion for top in the district with #10 from new caney a more mobile quarterback then #11 from Porter RB: #5 from new caney is big and runs downhill leads the district in touchdowns WR: Porters #2 and New Caneys #3 are excellent and the entire wide receiver core is good on each side OL- Toss up both play well and with good technique DL- porters #44 is a monster while new caneys #77 can blow past offensive lineman porters #40 is ridiculously quick and leads the district in sacks if I'm not mistaken LB- Both teams have good linebackers Porters #1 is built like a safety but beats people with speed and agility and always ends up making a big play New Caneys #9 is hard nosed and makes a ton of tackles CB: Porters CB's are more athletic new caneys are a product of the system Special teams: Porters returned multiple punts and kicks they do a great job on special teams Coaching: Obviously both coaches are great porters Jim Holley is the headline for turning around a Porter team that's gone a combined 9-51 in the last 6 years Can't wait to watch Friday Night!

According to maxpreps, New Caney gave up 316 yards and 29 points to splendora while Porter gave up just 122 yards and 3 points. To completely shut a team down that had extreme success against one of the top 4 teams in district is impressive; can't count Porter out
