dern kinda harsh don't you think. I think Lumberton should be happy if anyone would want that job. It is the toughest district with the worst players and apparently the worst parents. They don't compete in any of the sports. Seems like Lumberton would need a little league coach!!!

should be alot of hardin, newton, ec kids!! The catcher and 1st basemen from Newton were real good. Hardin has some good pitching, EC can play some good defense. Alot of deserving kids!!

4 coaches in 4 years, 2 years ago did not even finish the year. With all the success of the football team it is good for the baseball team to be able to represent the school with pride as well!!!

I want to give props to Newtons seniors. They have been through so much in their 4 years and to end it with a district championship is as sweet as it can get. They are about as hot as you can get,they have won 10 of their last 12. It says alot about Newton kids for them to make it all the way back!!!! GREAT JOB!!!!

what is bad someone may get left out because of the flip of a coin. The kids deserve better than that. I guess they can thank their distrct leaders for their stellar brainwork on that issue.

they can't play it off. You can only play 1 game a week and they are already playing on Monday. They will have to flip for it.

who wins this game? It is a huge game for both teams!! If Newton wins and Hardin wins tie for district championship (coin flip). If Dewyville wins and Newton wins, Newton is district champ, Hardin 2nd, Dewyville and EC will flip for 3rd. The district screwed all the teams by not playing 2 last week!!! From what I hear none of the baseball coaches had a say in how things played out. How sweet it must be to be an administrator!!!

I agree a win is a win. I am just saying some schools get he benefit of better baseball players moving or growing up that district. Some of that has to do with the coach some that has to do with the program. EX. Jasper they were good when Mike Rogers was there and when Coach Mixon came on board they stayed the same or got a little better. Compered to Newton, not real good for a long time, new coach moves in and will make the play-offs 2 years in a row. Some of tha has to do with classification some of it has to do with coaching. All I am saying is each situation is different. It is coaching, however if the community does not support the program it does not matter who coaches them!!

The AD @ K'ville did not even get an interview from what I hear. Buna would be crazy to change coaches now that htey are actually on a level playing field.

I truly respect coach Griffin and coach stone, however when you have the numbers that these coaches have come out they can't help but have at least 15-20 players. Baseball athletes and football athletes are completely different. Baseball involves hand eye coordination etc. All I am saying is the measure of success is different for different programs. Sometimes a 500 record is a major accomplishment and that should be a credit to the coaches and players. I do not want tp take anything away from any of those coaches that have been metioned above they do a great job, but there are other coaches who do just as good as job with a whole lot less.

Same old stuff just encouraging a lack of class and sportmanship. The shortstop from what I saw is about as dirty and cheap a player that I have seen this year. And from what I hear his dad encourages that behavior. I thought Newton players handled themselves very well considering!!!!

the people of Buna are crazy if they change coaches!!!!! The current coach has been hamstrung with bad athletes and a tough district. That is a tough thing to deal with at the same time. The same bad athletes Buna plays football with is the same bad athletes yall play baseball with. I would at least allow the coach a year with better athletes and better district before we start rumors!!
