Really ,,, ??? I would put that right back @ you !!! The way this is set up ,, PNG (white) gets the real advantage here !!! LOL SRY Im sure you will take offense ,,, none really intended but come on be real!! I know our team is'nt scared to play anyone , if NED was moved to #4 we still play WOS hey thats great I want to see that rematch very badly !!! If you really want to play anyone , than support NED (white) and step up to playing 1 of the top teams to GET TO THE SB ,, not wait and play a top team in the SB !!! Im sry but im surprised that all of the coaches are'nt supporting NED(white) I am with the PNG purple team. There are a couple of things being discussed that really bother me. First of all, TWO WRONGS DON'T MAKE A RIGHT ! At this point if you overturn a possible mistake by the board, then you force teams that have prepared for two practices for one team to totally change their gameplans to play another and confuse the kids. If it is indeed ABOUT THE KIDS, then this is wrong. Second, alot of you are saying how much this "benefits the PNG teams". If you have followed the league at all, that is a pretty ridiculous statement. Yes, we did lose to Ned. White early in the year, 33-20. We fell behind immediately on a blown call when the officials let one of their kids advance the opening kickoff for a score and then a two point conversion on an illegal formation. We have been wanting another crack at Ned. White since the minute that we walked off the field. We have played Lumberton White and we lost 14-0. Played hard and moved the ball, but had a couple of opportunities slip away. We were excited when we thought we would get another shot at them. Then I remind you, went to WOS and lost 13-6. This is the same WOS team that just beat Ned. White 35-7. We know exactly what PNG white does so when I say that they would much rather play Ned. White in their bracket, I am telling the truth. Just ask them. Guys, you have to beat the best teams to win it all anyway. I personally don't care who we play, as long as I can prepare my kids to play to the best of their abilities. I will argue with anyone that we played the toughest schedule in the league (Lum. white 8-0, Ned. white 7-1, WOS 7-1) so I am not ashamed at where we are seeded and wherever we end up, we will come to play. Some of you should ask yourself that if you played our schedule, reallistically where would you be at this point ? I think scheduling plays a large part in some of these issues that we are having. We need to find a better way to even up the schedules and make sure that everyone plays the same amount of divisional games ! Sorry about the rant but I feel like I should defend our team against some of you that think we are getting "some sort of gift". No offense to anybody mentioned above, just trying to make a case. All eight teams in the playoffs are GOOD TEAMS. You guys are a good team but do not stand a chance against Ned White. We let the score get to that by playing kids in postion that they would never play. We could have blown it wide open but kept sportmanship in mind. We let one player that ways 50 pounds run the ball at least 5 times. So if you want another crack at us I can set up a scrimmage before playoffs(NO PROBLEM) Wow. I never expected such a dilusional response. I thought that you guys had enough sense to be rational about the strength of your team and your strength of schedule. Guess I was way off. The comment about the fact that you could have run up the score is pretty hilarious. Take away the first 8 points that you were spotted, and it's a whole different ball game. As for the comments about the WOS game, it is funny that I have spoken with the coaches on numerous occasions and this was never mentioned about kids missing the game. I was trying to be rational about this whole deal and sympathize with your issue, but you couldn't handle that. I have seen all of the playoff teams and believe me, I have realistic goals. Lumberton White, PNG White, and WOS are at an entirely different level than the rest of the field. That being said, make the most out of your "one and out" playoff appearance. I am not going to get into the "I am better than you, we could have blown it wide open " game. I just stated that we would LOVE another shot without having to play from behind because an official doesn't know the rules ! Now we have a thread about the playoff situation turned into a Ned. White is better than PNG purple thread. Amazing.

We put a tremendous amount of time and preparation into getting our team ready each week. You haven't played Lumberton White, so you haven't had to prepare for the "squat and shoot" offense that they run. We change our entire defensive scheme and gameplan when we play this offense. So yes, we are very concerned about who we are preparing to play and I do not feel that it is right , at this point in the week , to change things. On a side note, if it were me in your position, I would be upset also. But, I would not be fighting to play a game against another team from PNGYFA in the first round ! Who knows, if we both hold our breath, we may get that rematch !

Icewater, I hate to say too much but I am being told that there are two different criteria being used in this situation. The rules being questioned on this thread are for "playoff seeding tiebreakers". I was told that in the case of WOS,PNG, and Nederland White - that they first had to decide WHO WON THE DIVISION. To do this, because of a three-way tie with 4-1 division records, they used points against to determine the places FOR THE DIVISION. Then proceeded to seed the playoffs. This is what I am being told. I was told that this was questioned at the playoff meeting and that the seeding SHOULD not change before Saturday. Sounds like STJFL is making things too complicated. Just my opinion.

Hopefully before practice this afternoon...That would be nice.

As a former Indian, (though from another Tribe), I can tell you that from what I have seen, most schools that have an Indian as their symbol have a lot of spirit. But, when your mascot does a war dance, insure that he is in his tribal lands...not on someone else's reservation, or for that matter....ahem...cave. Else said mascot will find his feather ruffled by the grassy plain of the football field...1999 LCM game, for example...? UUUUUUUHHHHH......OK... ??? ??? -
Everyone needs to be fairly seeded according to the existing rules. Here is my problem. These teams have already begun preparing for the teams according to the current bracket that is out there. The longer that this question looms, the harder it will be to reshuffle in time for teams to change their entire gameplan. If there is a mistake, this is a bad situation.

Correct me if I'm wrong but aren't all "noise makers" banned from UIL events. I think Cleveland had better ditch the horn or have someone else operate it. I know there would have been some issues at The Reservation if that would have gone down here. I imagine there would have been problems in numerous stadiums if someone was blowing the dang thing that much ! Now playing Cherokee every three minutes is just fine... -
Nederland Black is #4 seed. PNG Purple is #5.
-
One bracket: #1 PNG White vs. #8 Vidor Black #4 PNG Purple vs. #5 Nederland Black Other bracket: #2 Lumberton White vs. #7 Nederland White #3 WOS vs. #6 Vidor Gold I am pretty sure that this is correct. Can anyone verify this ?

PNG Purple got a big win against Vidor Black, 20-7. Moved up in the seedings with the win. Thought we might get a second shot at Nederland White but excited to matchup with Nederland Black. Should be a good one. Good Luck, Bulldogs !

I understand your frustration, but i would just like to say on the record that the last four plays were handoffs up the middle which were snapped with one second on the play clock trying to run out the clock. Just tackle and the game is over. I can promise you Faircloth doesn't care about any kind of "style" points... -

Man, talk about a slanted interpretation of the ending of this ballgame. Only someone with a pre-existing bias against PN-G could see that finish in this manner. The players went through the exact same routine at the end of this ballgame that they have done after all seven games this year. If you have a problem, you should just come out and say it and stop the B.S. posts !!! I guess if the LR1969 stands for Lumberton Raider, I can see why you are so pissy !!! -
There should be a seeding process, 1 through 8. I'll check on it.
-
Division 1 is tough ! Looks like both wildcards will come from this division.
-
In my opinion, which doesn't mean much, PN-G white looks like the most dangerous team right now. Saturday could be a reality check for Ned. White. Nothing against them, but they haven't played the strongest schedule up to this point. There should be some great games in the playoffs. I think everyone will be ready for the swinging gates and gadgets the second time around !
-
No score predictions here. I WILL say that any team (i.e. Texas City, Livingston, etc. ) that expects to come in and run 99.9 % of the time against the Indians could be in BIG trouble. Don't know what it's going to take for people to realize what we already know...Maybe another thumping this week will do it... By the way, if your shooting for Mathews to tuck in his shirt, let's shoot for getting him to turn his hat around too !!! ;D

Flu is killing PN-G purple this week. > How's it look over there in Lumberton ?

First of all, I would like to say that I was directly involved with the PN-G - WO-S pee wee game this weekend. Secondly, I would like to say that because I was involved, I now know that many people get on this board and post about things that they know ABSOLUTELY NOTHING about ! I would like to say that the WO-S coaching staff is a first rate and stand up bunch of guys. The head coach admitted the mistakes and that was that. I can ASSURE you that some of the WO-S kids DID NOT PLAY and this was admitted by one of the coaches. The numbers of the players in question were given to the coaches and we had a discussion with a coach about these kids. This coach went out of his way to talk to us and let us know that they were wrong and it was an honest mistake. We did hear the parents comments, but were already alerted to watch the MPR situation closely. Bottom line is that if a team with 25 kids is following the rules and playing EVERYONE 10 plays, and a team with let's say 18 players plays their best players, the latter team has a decided advantage ! That is why the rule is in place. Can it effect the outcome of the game ? ABSOLUTELY. Nobody likes to "win" a game like this, but there has to be a level playing field and the kids who pay and work hard need to play. To the person who commented about the PN-G coaching staff and chain crew " storming the field" after the game, GET A FREAKING LIFE... You have no idea what you are talking about. I can assure you that this situation was handled as well as possible by all involved. As I said earlier, the WO-S coaches and Mr. Guillory are stand up guys and have a really tough team. There is definitely nothing to be embarrassed about, it could happen to anybody. It is tough to coach at this level. Everyone has their own opinions about this issue, but if you are a coach and do not stand up for your kids and make sure that they are playing on an "even field", then you probably shouldn't be out there. Mr. Guillory acknowledged a rules violation immediately, and immediately signed off on the MPR form. Please don't post hearsay on these boards when you know nothing about the situation. Good Luck to the Mustangs and congratulations to both teams on a hard fought ballgame.
