Wayne wins by 119 points, three shy of D-II mark Updated: December 29, 2007, 9:14 PM EST 19 comments RSS digg blog email print DETROIT (AP) - Jasmine McCall scored 23 points in Wayne, Michigan's 132-13 rout of Temple Baptist on Saturday. The 119-point margin of victory was three points shy of the NCAA Division II record. West Texas A&M defeated National Christian 155-33 on Nov. 29, 2001. The Warriors made 58 field goals, four shy of the NCAA mark of 62 set by Norfolk State on Nov. 20, 1990, against Fayetteville State. The Runnin' Rams dressed only five players for the game and committed 54 turnovers, which resulted in 92 points for Wayne. Forward Ansley Davenport's three-pointer finally got Temple Baptist on the scoreboard with 10:28 left in the first half, halting a 38-0 game-opening Warriors rally. Wayne then scored 33 unanswered points, a scoring surge that ended just before the half when guard Bea Mason hit two free throws and a three-pointer.

McNabb would register his second goal of the game and team-leading 16th goal of the season to bring the score to 3-1 at 12:36 of the . Brandon Benedict, who dropped the gloves with Phil Youngclaus in the first period, would gather the assist to continue his blazing hot stretch for Texas. Kevin Baker would continue his six-game points streak with some last second insurance at 19:46 and the Catters would go on to win 4-1.
