    Congrats WOS on a great season. Two nearly evenly matched teams. Waco just got a couple of breaks in the 4th Quarter.

    Astros close to deal with Kaz Matsui... Reported by multiple sources, including www.astros.com. 3 yrs. around $15 million overall I am mixed on deal. Is he really much of an upgrade over Chris Burke? Maybe slightly, but if you look at his #s, last year he was Craig Biggio (2007 version that is) away from Coors Field. I have soured some on Burke, but not that high on Matsui either. Matsui does get on base, is very good defensively, & has good speed. I only like it IF they have a deal worked out for pitching (like say Chris Burke & Luke Scott for a starting pitcher). Ed Wade is doing some good things & upgrading the roster top to bottom. Bullpen is better & has acquired some speed (Bourn, etc.). Trying to reload the minor leagues too. But I sure hope he gets some starting pitching soon. Like a proven #2 starter behind Roy Oswalt. Then you can fill in the gaps from there (Backe, Patton, Albers, Nieve, Williams, Wandy, etc.).

    Big week for Big 12's Texas & Texas A&M basketball teams... Men's basketball: Both are ranked in Top 10 now. Both are undefeated after good starts. This week will start to shake things out. Wed. Bama @ #9 A&M 8:00 PM ESPNU & Sunday #9 A&M @ Arizona (ranked not sure #) 5:00 PM #8 Texas @ #2 UCLA 7:00 PM both games on FSN

    Scott Joseph of the Lee coaching staff joined current head coaches from Killeen Ellison, Beaumont Central, Little Cypress-Mauriceville and Santa Fe among at least eight people interviewed Tuesday and Wednesday by the district, said a source close to the process. Joseph, Beaumont Central coach Donald Stowers and LC-M coach Todd Moody all confirmed that they had been interviewed this week.
