Russell, you must be sippin some of that purple Rocky Top that coach ard used to pass out. I guess I remember it a bit different than you. I remember us getting our butts kicked with nobody in the stands and nobody caring. I remember being everyone's homecoming game. Dayton was the equivalent of the Los Angeles Clippers before Jerry Stewart. Do you think that all of the sudden Dayton has had an influx of talent? It's more likely that a great coach was able to create a winning program from the ground up. You could change the name of the town to Stewartville and I wouldn't have a problem with it. From 1973-1995 Dayton had 110 wins. From 1996 to 2008 (under Stewart) Dayton has 109 wins. It took DHS 23 years to do what Coach Stewart has done in 13, or approximately 100 gamesl less. You can be nostalgic about losing if you want to, but the numbers speak for themselves.

The two times that Dayton made the playoffs in my lifetime(pre Stewart) Dayton had two of the better Dayton QB's since I've been alive(one of them being Coach Wood). Feel free to go down to the sideline Friday and tell Quinn he sucked, and let us know what he had to say about that. Since you know me so well, give me a call and we'll discuss this further.

I doubt there have been many times that a Jerry Stewart coached team has been "simply outcoached." but feel free to enlighten me.

Yall just think that Dayton can smash on Barbers Hill i do not like Coach Price . but i think big Price will bring his a Game just like 2 years ago when Barbers Hill played Galena Park and they were key word WERE undefeated and barbers hill beat them . Also Dayton lost to friendswood and who has beaten friendswood Barbers Hill i believe BH has beaten friendswood almost every time they have played excuse me if i may be wrong on that but Barbers Hill i know for a fact is practice is gonna be hard for barbers hill and Green and A.J Dugat for one Cody Green is not all that great and A.J Dugat Can be shut down ive played with him and sure he does hit hard and lowers his shoulders but who cares People can take his hits and i know for a fact on both sides can darn near keep up with him if they can play P-NG and almost beat them yeah im not gonna bring up PN-G and Dayton last year who cares dayton was a much better team last year . and if i may say its gonna be either a dog fight till the end or what cause i know for a fact Stewarts pretty scared of BH's Big Dogs and stewart wants to play his big dogs the whole game yall will see for a fact that BH has pretty good guys not just Carmona there line is pretty big about the size and speed of dayton the only thing is yall dont realize who BH has for recievers so watch the game and see how this plays out . i still say Dayton -38 B.H - 42 Huh? If you're being sarcastic, that's dang funny...Don't get me wrong...Dayton was good and they have some peices coming back...plus Big Green...but not toooooooooooooooo sure if they're Top 10 worthy! In case you hadn't noticed, Dayton is being picked by DCTF to win the4A D2 state championship, but after decades of covering high school football they couldn't possibly know as much as you.

There is absolutely no chance that Shepherd goes to ATM. He may or may not end up at Texas, but if not Texas he'll be at LSU or Michigan. Why would he go to a school with a coach (Sherman)that runs a pro style offense, when he struggles throwing the ball and is more suited for the spread offense.

So you're saying Neumann doesn't know how to use his players properly? That's a good argument for why he's better. You said Nederland was "very young." It looked like the 7th grade B team out there when Dayton hung 63 on them. Stewart took a program that had made the playoffs twice in my lifetime and has been there 12 straight years with 7 or 8 district championships. Put Neumann in Dayton and it would be a different story. 22 4a might be a tough district, but Dayton made it look pretty weak for the last two years.

Hey Meat, best coaching staff in the area???? Larry Nuemann couldn't hold Jerry Stewart's jock. Jerry stewart has done more with less year in and year out. Put down the pipe!
