A head scratcher. That 8th grade team last year was packed football and bball.

Whether yall admit it or not 14.2 keeps this thing interesting. đPerhaps BH and Crosby relations will improve now that the head coaches are former colleagues. Maybe some of those unsportsmanlike penalties that caused their field to get stomped on wonât be an issue. Anywho I think I speak for all of us, that have witnessed this yrs team in person, this team definitely looks different physically. Never a good sign when other teams DL looks bigger than your OL. That wonât be the case this yr. Remains to be seen tho if these big cats can actually play. Iâd imagine the entire district will be better because of how competitive it was last. That only serves to help our teams in the playoffs against these tough region two teams

Pretty much. Music playing over loud speakers all practice

Participation needs to come up. Nice turnout to Summer workouts. But Iâm still trying to figure how Rio had more football players with a smaller enrollment. This years team will be leaps and bounds better than last years team. But Iâd imagine the whole district got better as well. Time will tell.

Chilli cheese nachos with Jalapeños. Every game is a must for me. Heartburn on the way home but still love it since I was a kid.

BREAKING Crosby hires HFC/AD Joe Willis

The âCougarettesâ will probably end up in a state cheerleading competition. But the mighty Crosby Cougars will be just fine. Kids are working their tails off this summer. Something about being underdogs makes Crosby more dangerous historically. -
Let me get PNG by a score TD or FG. Both talented teams. Just think PNG will come in super motivated to avenge the loss and riding a wave of excitement from going as far as they did last year. Look at PAM to strike first but PNG grinds to a victory over a very tough 4 qrts. Good game for SETx football

Crosby KO the #3 RB for LH. Blake Simpson was the #1 back and #20 was the #2 back. I would agree if Blake got KO LH doesnât stand a chance against Crosby that yr. I do believe the outcome is still the same against PNG. That defense was salty asl. They were able to get penetration and disrupt the timing.

All I know for sure is that she is from Crosby. And thatâs sheâs already hard at work implementing programs that we didnât have. Still looking forward to Crosby having a great season. For whatever reason historically Crosby has done well when theyâre not favored to win. -

Give me all my lil cousins. Levi Fontenot SR/RB lil cuz got a point to prove. Copelan Windfont JR/LB working hard in the offseason getting a lot of looks from D1 schools already holds an offer from UTSA. AJ Johnson JR/LT/DT the big man in the middle 2nd yr starter on varsity. -

High school football recruiting changed drastically after the portal and covid. There are college recruiters online that will tell you straight up they are looking for someone who fits the bill physically. 5â11 LB is going JUCO 5â8 RB/WR better be a 4.3. Everyone thinks that if you can play you can play no matter the size ,and that may be true, but when your job depends on it youâre probably going with a 6â3 transfer over a LB under 6â. Best bet is to get your kid to put as much on paper/film as possible. That means track, powerlifting, basketball and attending camps. In regards to Rio the kids he had to work with all fit the bill physically and in the classroom. Netherly, Williams , and Patterson all were all district academics. Nethery 6â2 WR 2nd place in state 400m. Patterson 5â11WR went to state in 200m. Williams 5â8 HB with a laser timed 4.35. -

Rio had an open check book đ those days are probably over. At least fix the damn practice f and game field. From what I understand she plans to do that. Rio practices were high energy. Practiced on the game field with music playing. Probably why they had so many false starts. Lol -

All I can/will say is it wasnât politics. P might have been one of the few coaches in Crosby history that didnât do politics. -

I wouldâve liked to see someone younger. Heâs had tremendous success at CP but no where else. Someone 36-46 with enough piss and vinegar to get the kids up and buying in. Not a someone their pawpaw age. -

Word on the Skreets is Joe Willis former coach at Cedar Park, Colleyville, and Tyler Legacy. A bit old for my taste but hope for the best. -

Someone said it would be funny if Crosby ends up with Westerburg. Lol. Looks like they arenât going to be far off from it. -
Being big in the trenches definitely gon put some notches in the W column. Would not be surprised to see PNG back in the state game.

Makes sense. I hate spreading rumors but the word is there were a lot of applicants. I would agree that CHS given everything over the last 5-10 yrs doesnât sound attractive. But to it didnât sound attractive when we landed Coach P. -
