  1. My only concern for our boys is if the stadium isn't completed on time and the whole season is played away.
  2. Just saw on the Indians website that there will be a pep rally at Indian Stadium on Thursday night at 7:00. We would love to see all of MC show up and support the Indians.
  3. Lamar is in fact working toward resurrecting the football team. The problem is that they have to develop parity in women's sports due to Title IX. That is why they have a new women's soccer team this year and a new women's softball team is following shortly. BTW, the last ten+ years of the LU football program had basically no local recruits. The coaching staff primarily came from California and Florida and those coaches went home to recruit. Our local players were recruited by other teams in the Southland Conference instead. We basically lost to our own local kids as a result. This was a constant complaint held by many Cardinal Club members. LU football will never be supported by local fans until it seeks out our local talent. We have too much talent in this area not to have a top program for a University of LU's size.
  4. During the PNG-Ozen game, a referree stopped the game and called an officer standing at the fieldhouse down onto the field. They walked over and talked to the Ozen coach. They had a conversation but couldn't tell what happened next. Heard a rumor but don't want to repeat it until confirmed. Anyone else know what happened?
  5. WOS92, you are right about the conditioning. That has been a major complaint for the last 3 seasons. Bmt Ent ran an article this week that quotes Burnett with the following.... "We've juiced up the junior varsity and turned them loose," explained Burnett. "We've told them to go full speed and to hit us (the varsity) hard in the practices. We're going live in our scrimmages, and we're doing more scrimmaging this week. We want to make everything as game-like as possible." Many of the boys talk about never having full contact drills at practices. It sure seems to show in a game. And if all you do is practice against your JV (at less than full contact), well......... We can't blame the players for this, it lies elsewhere.
  6. By the end of the game, most of the offensive line was limping off the field. We have too many players who are not being utilized. Preseason is the time to test their abilities.
  7. We are paying dearly for too many kids playing both ways. They are exhausted by halftime. They can't make it thru the game. We are in the stands hearing the same comments from parents whose kids do play both ways. They really seem to resent it. These boys are playing with strains and other injuries without getting any relief. This is preseason so what happens when we get to district play? for example our backup QB is a starting defensive player. This is nuts. Our boys deserve so much more. >
  8. Never heard any fans wanting him gone. It's just a sad situation. Colleges were looking at him last year.
  9. Can't say favoritism. Pretty reliable sources (other players) say he's gone.
