  1. I hear Coach Mixon might be coaching at the All-Star game? If this is true, I wonder if Casey could ask Mixon about all of the intentional walks. I assure you, Mixon would get a laugh out of it. Congrats to Casey Jackson and BC...
  2. This is the question... I'm guessing they'll go with Yates, then go with Stephenson if Yates gets into trouble in the middle of an inning (even if it's the 1st). You might see a young lefty go for Jasper (can't remember his name). Hart can throw also... I believe you would see Parson's work the last three.... Regardless, someone is going to have to step up big if Jasper is going to pull this one out.... Could Parsons have pitched 4 innings next game if he would have been pulled for the last inning during the 2nd game?
  3. If's and but's: If BC had went on to win state this year, do you think Coach Bryant would have been there next year?
  4. Is this being overblown and in fact just a rumor? I don't understand it and believe there must be more to the story (if there really is one).... I'm an outsider but will give 2 cents worth: This reminds me of the Yankees letting Joe Torre go because his team couldn't beat the Red Sox. If BC is looking at making a change due to the playoff losses, I think it would be a mistake.... Sure, the coach makes critical decisions at critical times, but the game is played on the field between the players. Not sure Coach Bryant had any impact on the playoff loss this year? Bridge City has a great team/program with great players. A very strong starting/ace pitcher will be back the next 2 years along with other standouts. BC will make the playoffs next year, and guess what, the same thing may happen again. Even if you change coaches.
  5. A poser looking for a laugh, or maybe just an idiot? Which one are you? Am enjoying your "Austin attitude". (Sorry Admin. Will try to straighten up here.)... As hard as it is to admit, Jasper was not the best team in the district this year. You do realize Jasper finished 3rd in 21-3A right? Jasper is still here due to a good year, a coin flip, and a great performance against a very tough Bridge City team last week.... Are you comparing these districts based on one game? Think about the teams in 21-3A: Bridge City, Hardin-Jefferson, Hamshire-Fannett, Orangefield, Silsbee, and little 'ole Jasper. Teams you probably haven't seen much of and don't know much about being that they play over in the "backwoods" of East Texas (A place you might not want to visit)... I've watched Hutto, Taylor, and Liberty Hill this year. All good teams, but Hutto will probably do better in 4A next year than you would have done with the guys from 21-3A this year. It's all about pitching right? Without knowing much about Hutto's pitching depth, but trusting in your expertise, I would say Hutto is the favorite in this series. Jasper just doesn't have pitching depth. That's why Hutto gets the edge..... Hopefully, Jasper's #1 can go tomorrow. I know you're just joking, but to count out Jasper would be a mistake. They tend to play one game at a time... If Hutto wins the series, I look forward to following them... By the way, which position do you play? Liberty Hill won 18-3A right? If I am right, could you please explain or give us your excuse on just how that happened.
  6. Welcome to the site hippo. Glad you could join us. But could you stop embarrassing us Central Texas people with your ridiculous comments?
  7. I agree. If Buna plays their game, then we'll see them in Austin, or Round Rock or wherever.
  8. I guarantee the BC boys ain't scared. They will beat the Dawgs in one and make them like it. The stars are aligning themselves... Or is that Mixon aligning those stars?
  9. This year BC beats Jasper twice by one run each game (games that could have easily went either way), wins district, beats Needville in 3, then turns around and there is Jasper again....You gotta believe BC is not liking this one game deal too much. Has the momentum already shifted in Jasper's favor without even starting this upcoming playoff game?
  10. I haven't heard for sure who is starting on the mound for the 5PM game.... The big question mark for Jasper is Aaron Stephenson. When he pitches tonight, if he is on, Jasper will move on to the next round. If he is not on, well... we'll have to see what happens.... I just have a feeling the bats will erupt tonight for Jasper. Hope I am right.... (I live over here in 18-3A world. Any updates on Taylor, Hutto, Liberty Hill, would be appreciated.)
  11. Great win Bulldogs! Way to come back... Great job Parsons...Sounds like Hart is back!!
  12. If Stephenson is truly healthy and throwing strike's in the mid 80's, that's exciting and really open things up for Jasper. We all know Parsons has had to carry this team. He'll get a break. Not to mention, Stephenson will give the other 21-3A teams something new to see if they meet up down the road.... Hope to see what Stephenson has tonight against a tough Buna team.
  13. I think he signed with McNeese?... I've watched Jasper 5 times or so including last year. Have seen him make some spectacular plays and have seen him miss fly balls that he should have had. Haven't payed attention to his arm? Can he throw?
  14. I can't think of anyone....What's Bronsons' middle name? He could actually be "MLB". (Please excuse me for that one.)....Malcolm is special. When you see him at the plate, watch him run the bases, you know you are looking at a "ball player". Seems like a great kid too. Will be keeping up with him long after high school.
  15. What a game on Friday!.... Aaron Stephenson (winning pitcher in state championship game last year)should be back for Jasper next week. If he can stay healthy, come playoff time, Jasper should be ready for the playoffs.... Jasper will need to focus on a tough HF team for now.
  16. Can't go with you on this one Circlechange. Jasper will get at least 4 runs on another Bronson Grand Slam...ha
  17. BC, Haven't you learned? Baserunnning will kill you. You remember, right?
  18. I think the defense is here and better than ever. Particularly in pitching. Some of these 3A teams are 3-4 deep with above average pitchers.
  19. Parker Phillips did make some great plays last year as a Freshman, and overall he plays a very good 3rd base. Jasper does not win state without him. At this point in their HS careers however, I don't think you can compare Phillips and Hicks. Especially with pitching..... And I don't think you can compare Hicks and Hart either. Hart is who I would go with.
  20. Way to go Spurger !!!
  21. Those were big-time, get outta any park, home runs... Best outfield in the state is located in Jasper, TX.... Come and get it 21-3A...
