  1. Scalp'em, further to the above post... here is your old post about this years team you posted in a different thread. Quote"The group of kids this year aren't at the level of the kids last year, but they are still a good team."End Quote So which is it. Plus name a pitcher this year better than Rodrigiuez, Sparrow, Fenner or Walker. I give the power hitters this year has it equals out to last year as it looks like Hernandez is just as strong as Freeman was last year. But pitching is what got the team last year as far as it did, (with some timely hitting) and just dont see it this year. being a bystander and not a parent (obviously you are a parent) I can say this with out prejudice
  2. Obviously you didnt watch last years team much. And you got to be kidding about the pitchers. I would take any of last years pitchers over any of this years. What do you think carried last years team. Sure there were some big bats just like this year, but probably 3 or 4 of the best pitchers to come out of the league pitched last year.
  3. NederlandMom, youll have to wait and see on the final outcome of the positions, alot of things can change in the course of a game. and unless the allstar coach was just blind during the season would bet Walker gets a start over the Mets pitcher. ;D
  4. I agree as well. Walker dominated the Mets every time he pitched against them and a 10-0 record and his 1. something era sure makes you wonder on who the real Pitcher of the Year was. but who am I to judge being just a passerby
  5. Sorry, not bashing Groves LL. If I had a son that was young enough I would let him play Groves LL now over Pony any day. I like Pony rules better for the younger kids 5-8, but at the Little League lvl 9-12 when they can make the major team that would be great having the chance to advance to a tourney where your son could be on National tv. Groves is really too small for two leagues and hurts the lvl of play as you have good kids playing in both leagues where if they combined think of the talented teams that Groves would have. I was also stating that reading these forums and others and hearing people talk around Groves, I get the feeling that the team this year thinks they are twice as good as the team from last year.
  6. Babe Ruth has a great team with 4 of the kids from the Groves LL team from last year on it. Too bad from what I heard that the right coach didnt get picked to coach the team, now it will probably turn into a I am the coach so the kids off my team get to play over the kids that should get a chance to play. Also, from past experience, Groves and PN kids should not play at Babe Ruth as they play favs to the Nederland crowd.
  7. I heard Pittman quit as well.. To bad for BC, and lucky for Groves who is not even close to being as good as they were last year. I've been to several games and the pitching Groves has this year makes it hard to understand why other teams dont just hammer Groves. And WACO is a stretch for this team, just because the team last year was so good lets not get ahead of ourselves and think this team this year is even close. As stated below, Groves American was the place to play 5-6 years ago before the league went to pot. Plus those kids that were so good then are now 13-14-15 year olds, and quite a few of those boys I understand played on the LL team from Gorves last year.
