Sam wins in Houston in some huge upsets. They are hot also right now. Did you see what they did to Lamar? Sam has already split one run games with Rice. Now is the time to see if Sam can play on the big stage.

But with some good Soph starting players returning as juniors. Ty Parker at catcher, Tyler Ernest probably moving from second back to short, Parker Phillips at third, (and possibly pitching), and Sam Alvis in outfield, presumably moving from LF to center. There are more good young ones of course, but these were starters on the varsity this year. The key to Jasper success in 09 will be how well the young pitchers perform. Is Sam Alvis some distant relative of Max Alvis'? not distant at all. grandson.

... Locals in the regionals: .... At the Houston regional, hosted by Rice, Braeden Riley (Woodville) will represent our local Southland Conference for Sam Houston State. Braeden is .241-0-14 with 20 starts this year for the Bearkats. PNG grad Zac Harwood represents Rice. Harwood is 0-0 in limited action (2 appearances, 1 IP). .... I understand that Braeden Riley, a freshman, is the only Bearkat starter batting under 300. And he will get that average up in time. Go Kats! Upset the BIG BOYS!

It is my understanding that all games are at Round Rock, EXCEPT for 3a which is at Disch Falk. -
no i dont think so like its been said, this was an off the field issue from what i understand as many as said, this is an internal BC matter. don't you just hate these personnel issues! now coach is too damaged to "coach", but still ok to be "reassigned". ??? of course, we don't know the real issues, and probably never will. and that is probably best. Good wishes to BC in sorting this out.

Yates can get the job done. So could Derrick Sowell. If Parsons is to pitch, it probably would be the first three innings because he is already warmed up. That is what Mixon did with Ellis exactly one year ago at this very same ballpark. And Stephenson probably could be used for an inning or two if necessary. If the rule has not changed from last year, Parsons can pitch ten innings over two games in the same day. Doesn't totally make sense. A pitcher can pitch as many innings as he can in the same game. Say 15 innings. Or he could have pitched 15 innings last night, and pitch as many as he is capable today. But only ten innings in two games on the same day. Jasper needs to finally unleash the bats and give the pitching some room. That would really help the pitching out in this third game. The momentum probably has shifted now to Jasper since Hutto has now lost its first game of the playoffs, and has made some errors. Go Dogs!

**BRYANT OUT AT BRIDGE CITY**

If BC actually runs him off, there will be a long line of schools in line to hire him. You know, the way to stop losing playoff games is to get such a sorry coach that the possibility of losing playoff games will not exist. (if losing playoff games has anything to do with this rumor.) -
*Jasper vs. Hutto Game 1/Hutto Wins Game 1!!!!!!!!*

I think most knowledgeable people thought the same thing when Jasper lost Reagan, but that did not stop their march to state. Last year it was Ellis and Stephenson stepping up. This year it could be somebody else. It is not over until it is over.
