  1. We beat BC last year and we will do it again. As for the score, I have no idea!
  2. Well said Maverick. We were at the game last night and the team looked GOOD! The work that some of the players did in the off season by running with the Lumberton Track Club showed up in their game. Do I think we will win district? No, but I think we will give some teams an upset that they are not expecting. This is a work in progress... And most of the 'injuries' last night were the guys cramping up. It was so hot and muggy that you could drink the air. This was the first game I've been to where the players were eating bananas on the sideline to try and help with the cramps.
  3. That is ridiculous. In 8th grade, at 13/14 years of age NO KID should be committing to any college. There's too much school left to go.
  4. I've seen almost all of those girls play starting in Little Dribblers. I have seen them all play in middle and high school. They are good. And I can't wait to see Katie this year. I missed watching her last year. I just don't see Lumberton being as strong as they have been over the last two years or so. I also don't feel that the current coach will be as effective as he has been in the past. Just my two cents as a mom, and coach. Hopefully, I am wrong... ;D
  5. Chelsea wanted a Div 1 school and needed a scholarship. She had been looked at by several schools, had visited some, but things just didn't work out. She visited Panola JC and liked what she saw, even though it wasn't what she really wanted. She signed with them and then within that week Idaho State called her. She went up, visited, and really liked the program. Being as Panola is a JC, she could still sign with a Div 1...so she did.
  6. I think Central has a shot. I think it's going to be about 3 years before Lumberton goes to state again. When this group of incoming 8th graders gets to be Juniors, then we will have another strong team. They are the undefeated District Champs for 7th grade basketball this past 06-07 year. And the closest game was in the Central (Nederland) Tourny where they won by only 9 points. All other games were won by 20 or more. The last game they played Vidor and won 52-8.
  7. Oh...I do know that Crockett won the Seniors in the American Division.
  8. Jacksonville took the Juniors and Seniors National Division and Tyler took the Majors in the National Division. I don't know about the American Division.
