Newton has 12 of its 16 victories back from last year pitching. They also have young sophmore who is developing into a decent pitcher.

10-0 is crazy........ both teams are too good for 1 to get beat like that. Newton returns all their pitching from last year as well as most of their hitters. This will be a great game!!!! If it was a 3A or 4A it may have been game of the week.

Buna grabs the 3rd spot. Kirbyville is going to run out of pitching and Buna has more arms.

It is the Kountze district, I found out. I have heard it will be the same three (Kountze, Hardin, Newton). I have heard that Dewyville might make a run. I have heard East Chambers has not played a real strong team yet, so the word is still out I guess. It will be an interesting district to keep an eye on.

I heard that Woodville was lucky to get this win. Buna might be for real this year.

from what I have seen and heard Buna has the best shot at getting the 3rd spot in that district. Kirbyville will not have enough pitching to make it through district. Either way Buna will be really tough next year in the 2A ranks.

NEWTON IS NOW 4-4

Newton has a freshmen and a sophmore starting for them. Sophmore in left, freshmen in left. Sophmore is hitting .389. Freshmen is hitting .280. They are huge contributors to turning Newton baseball around.

Newton beat Kirbyville 8 - 6 in 11 innings. King and Luna for Newton looked real good. Hazelwood form Kirbyville pitches 8 innings and looked real good. Was a real good game.
