  1.     Beaumont Blast will terminate open practices as of last Sunday.  Blast is glad to welcome Madelyn Daniel (Nederland), Shelby Broussard (Hamshire Fannette) and Aeriyl Mass (Lake Charles LA), daughter of MLB's Oakland A's, Austin Nagle.  Austin, a long ball hitter and center fielder for the A's will be a great help in Blast's production at the plate! :)  Glad to have him on board as well!      Blast would like to thank all the players and parents that came out to participate in our open practices.  With only a select few spots needing to be filled, we had some tough decisions as a coaching staff.  Good luck to all the teams out there this fall.  A player that gets picked up by a college, playing for any select team, is the biggest trophy of all! 2.     Just a reminder!  Beaumont Blast 18U will continue to hold open practices for the next several Sundays.  Blast has been very fortunate to acquire 2 excellent players in the past couple of weeks that will enable us to expand our options for the upcoming summer season.      This fall we will compete in the following exposure tournaments: Cisco College, Stars Over Texas, University of Louisiana at Lafayette (ULL), Spring Klein, Navarro College, Ronald McDonald, and the 2013 Elite Pre-Thanksgiving Recruiting tournament (Grand Prairie, TX).  Blast is looking for a bracket pitcher / utility player to complete our roster of established players.      FYI:  Upon completing the Plano Exposure tournament, 6 of the 10  Blast players that traveled to Plano are currently being courted by several colleges here in Texas.  Two of the 6 have already committed!  If you want to have an enjoyable experience as part of a competitive team, contact one of the Blast members listed below.  Thanks! 3. Billy, I couldn't have said it any better than Ronnie.  You have been a great influence in getting Taylor where she is today.  Like you tell me all the time, she is as much your kid as mine! Lol.  Thanks for all the advice and pointers you have given me over the years.  You will truely be missed.  May God bless you in what ever you decided to do.  We wish all your senior players the best of luck in college. 4.     Beaumont Blast 18U will begin holding open practices this Sunday, July 21st at 2pm.  Team Blast will make its selection of players on a priority bases as follows:  #1 Catcher / utility player and #2 Pitcher / utility player (preferrably 2015 or 2016 players).  If you are a skilled player at one of the above positions and able to play / compete at multiple positions, the Blast coaching staff would like to invite you out to participate in one of our weekly practices.      The 1 or 2 players selected will be heavily scrutinized prior to being added to the 18U Blast roster of established players.  This being said, Blast would point out that only seriously competitive players with coachable attitudes, self motivated work ethics, and a genuine spirit of team work need to apply.  These players should also possess a strong desire to play and compete at the collegiate level.     Blast 18u is very fortunate to carry a roster of players who are very athletic and talented at all positions.  If Blast is able to add 1 or 2 of the above players, this will give Blast the added depth to pursue our goals for the 2013 fall season and the 2014 Summer season.     The Blast 2013 fall schedule consist of 5 college exposure tournaments as well as 1 local bracket competition tournament.  Blast has received numerous invitations to compete in other college exposure events but was unable to fit them all into one fall season!     Beaumont Blast is a family oriented organization with a goal and history of promoting select players to the collegiate level through encouragement and positive reinforcement (Keeping the experience competitive and fun at the same time.).      Blast 18U holds pratice at the Blast Complex located in the vicinity of North China Rd. in Beaumont.  If you are interested in learning more about what the Beaumont Blast has to offer and want to have an enjoyable experience as part of a competitive team, contact one of the Blast members listed below.
