The Sun Devil 14U will be having open tryouts November 16th(Monday) and November 18th(Wednesday) at the Little Cypress Mauriceville High School Softball field from 6-8. Tryouts are for all current 01's,02's, and 03's. This tryout is to find players to finalize the Spring rosters. If you cannot make at least one of these tryouts please contact Ashley Corchoran at 963-5552 or Rheanna Everett at 554-6697 for a private workout.

Parents: I have received a number of calls and texts recently regarding my Texas Boom team moving to 14u. Unfortunately I will not be coaching any longer and most of my girls that made up the team are moving on to new teams. I enjoyed my time as coach and enjoyed many successes, including a recent state and World Series championship, but I felt it was time to step aside as my daughter and her fellow teammates move up to the next level. I have spent the past six months forming a relationship with the Sun Devil organization and its manager/owner Matt Thompson. He is working diligently to make his organization the top softball organization in southeast Texas much like his baseball program. I encourage all girls in search of a team to attend their 14u tryouts this Sunday from 3:45-5:45. I hope this clarifies any confusion that people have regarding my team. Thanks Keith Day

Texas Boom 12U will be holding a tryout for the upcoming Spring and Summer season on Sunday, Janurary 25, 2015 at the College Street Fields in Beaumont. We are an independent team who had a very successful Fall season and look to finalize our roster with some good quality players who are 02's or 03's. Our season will consist of a number of tournaments in the Beaumont and Houston area and we will conclude our season in July with a trip to Panama City, Fl. for the World Series. We welcome all players to come out, even if you are currently on a team, and experience what we have going and see if this may be the team for you. We practice twice a week, usually on a weekday and on Sunday, until the tournament season begins and then we will go twice on weekdays. Texas Boom will be having an open practice this Saturday from 11-2 at the Sun Devil facility in Major dr. In Beaumont. The 3-hour session will include hitting, pitching, and catching. If the weather holds out we will take the field for outfield work as well. NOTE, this is not a tryout. Tryouts have yet to be scheduled at this point, however it's an opportunity for all players to show off there skills. Hope to see everyone there. Texas Boom 12u would like to announce an open practice for Sunday December 21st from 1-4 at the college street fields. This practice is open to all 02 and 03 players, however this is not a tryout, just an opportunity to meet our coaches and work on basic defensive and offensive skills. I have had numerous inquiries into information regarding tryouts for Texas Boom 12U for the Spring season, however we have decided to hold our tryout in February. We will have roster spots available and welcome anyone to our tryout.  Leading up to tryouts we will have open practices for all 12U players who are wanting to participate, whether you are on a team or not.  All tryout and open practice information will be posted on this website and our facebook page. Wanted to let everyone know that this weekend there was another car burglary marathon at ford park during a weekend softball tournament. There were known victims both Saturday and Sunday. This is the second incident that I know of in the past six months. I do not have a son who plays baseball however I'm sure that this has occurred during those tourneys as well. As a tax payer it pains me to see such a beautiful facility built with little or no parking security or cameras being installed. Instead security spends it's time making sure that there are no sunflower seeds snuck into the facility. I contacted a local news agency to check into this for all of us parents who regularly attend tournaments out there but if all parents who see this post could contact ford park as I intend to and make your complaints known that something needs to be done to at least make potential criminals think twice before acting.

Due to the overwhelming response from players who were unable to make Saturdays tryouts I have decided to hold one last open practice in an effort to give players another opportunity. The 12U roster will be finalized by next week so I encourage anyone who is interested on joining either team to come out Sunday. Please bring water and towel towel. Hope to see you there. Keith Day
