1. I understand. Navasota showed me a well coached team with very good athletes. But, again, WOS offense is/was not very good. I was not supprised to see your LBs and D-line in the backfield. The Rattlers D forced the fumbles but not the interceptions. Those were solely on the QB.
2. Nice job Navasota. Your offense was as advertised and I see nobody stopping the Rattlers on their way to the 3A-DII state title. Your offense moved the ball on a good defense, your size and speed overmatched the undersized WOS defense. The WOS offense helped your team out tremendously by gift wrapping turnovers on 90% of their possessions. Your team has very good athletes and I was impressed with your speed (I'm not easily impressed)...especially that #2, sorry I didn't get his name. I was involved in a different string all week and I toted our team as better than they actually were (of course, anybody would). Now that the Rattlers put a hurting on WOS, I will give you my true opinion. Warning: some Mustang fans will not like what I have to say...but it is unbiased. Also Note, I am a Mustang fan true and through...I bleed blue, but I am not delusional. No team can win a football game with as many turnovers as WOS had last night. Navasota, your defense is good. You suppressed a sub-par offense last night. There is no debate when I say WOS offense is awful, undersized, not very physical and they do not have the speed like our defense. Our QB is know for throwing interceptions and fumbling the ball...he did it last year and he did it this year. I'll give you credit for "forcing" the fumbles but the interceptions...he threw them right to Navasota players (like they were his receivers). So, for a lack-lus-ter offense to move the ball as well as they did I can't give your defense the nod (and yes they moved the ball on you quite well only loosing momentum due to turnovers). I could go on and on but I'm tired of typing and I have things to do this morning :) Again, good job Rattlers and good luck!
3. I don't usually give game predictions but when I do, it is: Mustangs  - 20 Rattlers    - 17
4. Thanks, Newton fan! I'd say good luck to the Eagles but they are steamrolling through their bracket! But, good luck!
5. with the speed of WOS defense...there is no "creating time for his receivers". The chain gang calls that "soon to be sack".
6. The mustang LBs blitz regularly because the are usually up by 2-3 TDs and their opponents are playing catchup (i.e. throwing the ball downfield). You can bet that they will drop in coverage Friday night and one of them will be "spying" the QB to take away his dual threat capabilities.
7.
this game brings back to mind the gilmer and wo-s game. gilmer had a QB that had over 3,000 yards passing 60 are so TDs in the air two WR that had over 2,000 yards each  somewhat like navasto has this year.not sure what year this was but gilmer was rated in the top 20 teams in high schools in the COUNTRY.the mustangs were hugh underdogs in this game the kids from wo-s got behind early in this game but after hafe time coach thompson made a  few changes with the D and it started clicking  almost shut gilmer down the 2nd hafe  do you mustangs fans remember this game yes we lost but we came back strong on them and the head coach said after the game we got out played the 2nd hafe witch NO ONE has done this to us all year . in closeing i wish both teams the bestand GOD watch over all the kids on the field friday and YES thompson is still there at wo-s he knows what its going to take to beat the rattlers now its up to his kids i love the commett one of the kids said yesterday navasota puts there pants on the same why we do
I was at this game. the Gilmer QB was impressive, I still remember one of the TDs he threw (55 yards in the air and receiver ran another 20 for TD). I can't wait for this game tomorrow, it will be very exciting. The first and third quarters will be vital, to both teams.
8. Thanks Bullodog Nation...good luck to the Dogs as well! WOS also has an "ace up the sleeve", we have comments from a coach that has already played Navasto (former WOS player). Since he has already scouted and played the Rattlers...his comments/recommendations might be an edge.
9. wait, I don't see them on the schedule of WOS...I thought they played around week 2 this year?
10. I didn't realize (nor have I kept up-to-date) Nederlands has only one loss this season. Those bulldogs are always a tough team to play against. Always a big O-line and speed on defense. Good luck Bulldogs, supporting the Golden Triangle! By the way, the loss was to WOS...Go Stangs!
11. There will be plenty of fans from WOS...I live in Houston and I'm making the trip!
12. I think we were hoping to play on Saturday...our Xmas parade is always on a Friday night.
13. cbmurphy...when 4 out of the 5 teams in your district are at 500 or lower that is considered a joke of a district. Note, I said WOS district is not much better.
