Anybody have an update?

I was hoping someone had an update by now. We had heard the night would be critical. I know the some of the kids here had a make-shift prayer meeting in the Casa Ole parking lot last night. Thoughts and prayers.....

All comes down to the almighty buck---somebody might be making 2 cents that they aren't getting.

It will be interesting to see if parents complain about this test like they do the TAKS. Get rid of one test replace it with another. I can't wait to see the first grade version---this should be interesting. I wonder if teachers will get incentives for having the skinniest class???

Been here ..had this conversation...this is what I was told. Some teams do not see the "arch" as good sportsmanship. They feel it is insulting. Rubbing it in their face that they lost. I was that mom that was mad because the other team went around. Just thought I'd share what I learned. Buna is generally a very pleasant yet competitive crew. Maybe your team could think of an alternative. But you'll never make everybody happy.

He was on the news last night. Nice interview! I would say he prob. still would appreciate some prayers.

I know I'm just a softball mom.......but.....we've been told to email your tournament schedule to the colleges before the tournament. I know you prob. only have 1 or 2 game times but it let's them know where to look for you. Also in softball we have "stat sheet" with all your information on it. Your parent (can hand-out but not talk) or coach (who can hand-out and talk about you) can hand them to any recruiter standing around. Put a picture, your teams--school and summer, contacts and stats...if your grades are good put that too. If you IM me I'll be glad to send you our sheet as a go by. You may already know and do all this but nobody has mentioned it. Good luck!

If you are going to put Marc Henry on your list don't forget his older brother Pat (Texas A&M). Also Charles Powell was an All-American at McNeese from Silsbee way back when. Plus I hear those McGallion boys were something too.... OK --I visited the other thread my list is all there.

A player on our 12U softball team had to make a trip to the hospital after using a Ben-gay "pad". This happened back in the fall. We called her dad today when I saw this on the national news. It's not something we think of as dangerous. But we may think alittle harder now. Scarey!

If you are really looking at Dayton---then look at Barber's Hill. Girls basketball is serious there. When we lived there nobody could understand how we had 3 girls and none played basketball. Nice place to live--only about 15 miles from Dayton. But Silsbee would be glad to have you too. But a little far from a job in Houston (just a guess).
