  1. Maybe it wasn't Jake Rowell that particular time, but I've heard Coach Griff use that saying many a time during Rowell's tenure at LCM. I'm sure Leger will hear it alot in the years to come also. Good kid and I think he'll be able to fill the shoes well
  2. I'm terribly sorry to inform you, but it is almost inhumanely possible for a high school kid to hit a baseball 500 feet
  3. Anybody have final from lcm / brenham It was 5 to 5 going into the sixth
  4. Well you can't mention standouts without mentioning the likes of: Ferguson, Murphy, Rowell, Dishon, Riley, Campbell, Serna, or Armstrong
  5. MVP Candidates: Murphy-WB Rowell-LCM Ferguson-WB Riley-WV Dishon-BC INF: Hart-Jasper Bunner-Vidor Lycan-WB Harrington-PNG Gardiner-Ozen OF: Armstrong-WB Serna-WB Mosley-Ned Calhoun-Silsbee P: James-Ozen Fazio-Kelly Reagan-Jasper Helmke-Ned
  6. No disrespect, but Carnahan will have to have stepped it up quite a bit because Campbell and Rowell are pretty dang good.
  7. Ok here's my two cents: Ferguson and Murphy from WB (Both can swing it and are close to flawless on D), Harrington from PNG (can throw it), Rowell from LCM ( Stick plays huge and is probably the best overall catcher in the area along w/Campbell from BH), Riley from Woodville (loves the game and a helluva player), Dishon from BC (speedster and has a cannon for an arm). There it is, I'll have more predictions later
  8. Even though LCM is young, they do have a shooter in sr. Kamron Vaughn. I got a chance to watch him against Orangefield and this kid can play. He's small but can shoot the rock and is as unselfish as they come. Lotta heart...
  9. For one, Riley is not just a baseball player but one hell of a baseball player. He is one of the premier players around these parts. As for the Kelly coach, JR Bardin and David Huggins knows more about the game than you have a chance of fathoming. So lay off or go coach your own team
  10. J.R. Bardin, Sam Moore, Jeremy Green just to name a few
  11. The NDN's were flat out physically overmatched. The Bears played an unbelievable game and hats off to Coach Moody for the game plan he had put together because boy it sure seemed to work. By the 4th quarter the PNG fans were headed to the house because the Bears were taking them to the house all night. A great win for LCM and it looks like the NDN's need to head back to the Reservation and eat their words for a week because the Bears came to play and who knows how this district could end up.
  12. I was at the LCM and Central game and I must say that the Bears should not be taken so lightly. Granted, Central has their own Vince Young taking the snaps but the Bears need to work a little bit on tackling. I saw a lot of arm tackling which would not bring down any of the Jags but I did see an LCM offense who showed the ability to move the ball against a pretty good defense. Next weeks matchup should be a good one between the NDN's and Bears
  13. Ok even though it is quite early, here's my two cents: 1. Nederland (Came out with probably the best "leftover" team in the district despite losing ace Mattison Smith. Helmke and crew have the potential to take this district) 2. LCM (Very young except for lone reuturning starter Jake Rowell. Potential is there with this team but leadership will be key and how they can respond to the pressure situations) 3. Ozen (Return their whole starting line-up including outstanding juniors Josh Gardiner and DD Lott. This could be a year for Ozen to make some noise in district 22-4A 4. PNG (Despite losing their starting rotation, if this team can minimize their mistakes on and off the field, they could make a run for the 2nd or 3rd spot) 5. Vidor (Return a good line-up and with head coach Kyle Green at the helm, the playoffs are not out of the question) 6. Dayton (Don't know much about this team, but hear that they have a legitimate starting pitcher) 7. Lumberton (For starters, they ran off a great one in Coach Buff and they also never seem to play up to expectations. Discipline will be key in L-town) 8. Central (I'll leave this rating to the imagination) So there you have it. An opinionated finale for district 22-4A
