  1. EC responds with score. 2pt conversion attempt fails. 21-12 (CC leading) w/ 10:02 remaining in Q4
  2. 14-6 CC end of Q3 EC fumbled it on one yard line. CC ran it 68 yds and is currently on their 20-ish.
  3. EC receives the kick to start the 2nd half and at EC's 40. (Just to let you know that play has begun again.)
  4. 7-6 CC at the half. The touchdown by EC was a nice run by Tramain Thomas. EC has had possession much of the game. Bucs just haven't seem to be able to put many points on the board. These comments are courtesy of my "ace reporter" Wade Thibodeaux. All of you note what a wonderful wife I am, please. While he's at the game on the sidelines taking pictures for next week's issue, I'm sitting at Texas Children's Hospital with our 6 yr old who has viral pneumonia, taking Wade's reports and posting them for you. Now, do I hear a collective, "helluva woman"? Yep, that's what I thought. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
  5. 1:59 left in Q1. EC turns it over on downs on CC 5 yd line. UGH! Long nite....
  6. Couple of possessions by each side. 3 and fumble; 3 and punt; 3 and punt... EC finally put a little offense in with a 21-yard run by Donte Raymond. No score yet. 8:21 left in Q1. GO BUCS!
  7. I hate to even discuss anything past tomorrow night. However, Hamilton is no slouch of a team. The best news about Mart losing is that psychologically, it will give the Bucs a little boost before tomorrow night's game. Or, at least I would think it might.
  8. The best feeling of all was seeing those coaches and those Bucs change up and step up! I'm so thoroughly proud of the whole group of them that I don't know what to do. And anyone who dares imply that the Bucs don't have talent as a team is not really very bright. It was inspiring to watch. And then, there was the teamwork in the stands. My Lord! I'm embarrassed that I ever suggested the fans were too quiet at Homecoming. It was head-banging, foot-stomping, Buc-loving crazy in the stands. What do you folks know about Corrigan-Camden? Enterprise and Chronicle servers are down, evidently. I can't find any stats, therefore, on i-preps. Want to hear some info on them... ;D
  9. Young man, you have repeatedly gloated about other players being hurt. I'm not going back through the posts to find them. But, they're there. My screenname is my real name and, other than Coop and a couple others, I'm the most identifiable poster to this forum. And, you're right, anyone can say anything they want. However, the adults among us don't like the hate and the trash talk. Your posts don't "bother me" per se. But, I do think they can be hurtful to other young people. As a parent, I don't like bullies. When you're unkind in print and hide behind a screenname, that's being a bully. It's ugly. I've tried to explain to you what the proper behavior would be. You are old enough to understand and choose your behavior from here on out. But, I've spent more time than I should trying to hint to you that it's time to grow up and be a nice young man, rather than a trash-talking kid. Good luck to you and I hope that you fully recover from your injuries.
  10. TO: k-villeballa You remind me of Lionheart from Kountze. What are you doing on an EC vs CC thread talking about how great Kirbyville is? Here's a hot tip for you: shhhhhhhhhh!
  11. I now understand why Lionheart has posted the things he has. He is but a child. And, until you've lived a little, you don't understand that hateful words are just that and cannot be justified as "getting into their heads." I don't think this forum should be off limits to students. However, this forum was designed to serve the adult community who likes to support their local and area high school teams. So, if you're a student and you want to participate in the adult world, step up and manage yourself like an adult. Otherwise, text the trash talk to your peers. NOTE: There's nothing wrong with being a child. In fact, I encourage all children to enjoy it. It's over waaaaay too soon. What say you, ECSeniorDL08? If you read this thread, why don't you tell Lionheart how students and players should conduct themselves on this board.
  12. Nobody's saying for sure. We'll all know at 7:30.
  13. I've thoroughly scanned your post, run it by the editors at the New York Times, compared it with the AP Style Book and have found it satisfactory to remain on the thread. ;D Seriously, I get your point about missing the word seems. But, I'm bored reading the same tired assessment of the Bucs' game strategy and talent. It would be one thing if something new was added. But, it's the same thing over and over. It goes like this: EC is no good. Thomas carries the team alone. Nobody else matters. We continue to vehemently disagree. You know I chuckled when, at the beginning of the season, Tony Valastro said in a Channel 6 post-game interview, that EC didn't get a lot of respect. I smiled, thinking that he was being a little sensitive. It's not quite so humorous now. I'm more inclined to agree.
  14. You say that based on what fact? I'm not trying to start something. I'm trying to point out that the Buccaneer OPPONENTS are the ones that have said these things. I don't think that the Buccaneer TEAM has built "their hopes" on one player. I think that's what all you guys have said and now you're all believing your own spin! I fully understand you supporting Hardin and that you are confident they will beat the Buccaneers tomorrow night. I don't understand you purporting to know what the Bucs have "built their hopes" on.
  15. Condescension? Sarcasm? Oh Noooooo! It's humor!!!! I know that most of you could care less and that you just tolerate my occasional posts. And, for that, I'm grateful (or gr8ful). Thanks, guys! (mostly) :-*
  16. You should know that your Buc Backers have been on this forum all season long talking about Tramain's support from his team. And, to give them some credit, let's mention some of the behind-the-scenes playmakers (in no particular order). There's Donte Raymond, Isaiah White, JT Hallmark, Kendall Barrow, Scott Penny, Carlos Trevino, Justin Devillier, Anthony Ortiz, Paul Trammell, Quentin Joseph, Alfredo Velasquez, Jacoby Carrington, Trey Lambert and Vance McDonald (before he was hurt). All of these guys and others have done some outstanding work on the field to work as a team and support each other and Tramain Thomas. He's a great player. But, it's also a great team. I am quite sure that the coaching staff has let these players know that they, like the entire community of Winnie and Stowell, are confident that they have the talent and the experience to beat the Hardin Hornets on Friday night. All of the ney-sayers don't have the benefit we've had of seeing these kids play together as a team for years. They didn't all just start playing together two weeks ago. To imply that there is no team beyond Tramain is absurd. They've hit a rough patch. Their game has changed some. But, they all know each other and they all know what they're capable of doing together. So, hang on Hardin. When you step on the field Friday night in Buc Stadium, you'll not only have a team of players that knows how to win, you'll have an entire town behind them that KNOWS they can beat Hardin or anyone they choose. Go Bucs!
  17. CircleChange: Excellent point. babyshoe: ROFL. "or VS. are" -- There are some days when I have to bite on a bullet to get through the posts. A lot of them are more like typographical errors because the guys get so passionate about their topic. But, the ones that offer no punctuation, I won't even attempt to read anymore. Buy a comma, please. dav-j: I have two little kids and a husband of 21 yrs. I'm plenty used to duckin' and weavin' and I ain't changin' now. Survival, my friend, survival.
  18. As the writer among you (read: not as high on the food chain as a broadcast journalist or a coach) , the word is berth, not birth. Berth is a place or a position. As in, they have a playoff berth. You're not giving birth to the playoffs. It is with great affection that offer this tip. I know it will mean a lot of each of you and that you'll all have a better day because of this post! **ducking from whatever is about to be thrown**
