Speaking of whoopin's ya'll get ready for another one.
just hope sc stays in our district after this year. Not much talent at sc after 2013.
they better have it to compete in their new district after this year.
their freshman and jv teams were not very good. Didnt see much talent on either team.
I don't know about the JV team...but the freshmen had some attitude issues too!  I'll never forget the way the players, parents and coaches carried themselves at our game last year.
I'm sure it wasn't the entire team....that's just like some of the Vidor boys said bad things to SC during the playoff game, but there were a FEW not all...
He can find himself down the dept chart at any school, he just have to keep working hard. I've seen some of the best QBs ride the bench, remember only one QB on field....Cougar14, you do know majority of the time the ball is thrown between the Lineman not over them? So what college you think would best fit Sharp, in your opinion? I read where Boise St is recruiting him, what do you think of them? And is it true Raelon is leaning toward Utes?
First off, when I say over the linemen I mean anywhere between the tackles or tight end and tackle. In other words anywhere a ball can be batted at the line of scrimmage. Second, if  you're the best qb on the team you don't ride the bench and if you do that means you aren't the best qb on the team. Maybe you've seen kids with good high school numbers ride the bench but they weren't the best qb on the team. I didn't see him on Boise St.'s boards but he's got an invite to UCLA's camp and I see he's in consideration for offers from Baylor, Texas Tech, and TCU. I think Boise St. would be perfect for his skill set though because he's a lot like Kellen Moore with better wheels, he's even a southpaw like Moore. So far as the schools that offered though I think UH is the best fit with the style offense they run. I think the dream scenario for Sharp would be Texas Tech (who has a soft verbal from DJ Gillen) or Louisana Tech.
Yea I know what you mean, but they have Qbs whose ball are batted down anyway, regardless of the formation. And yes they have really good Qbs on the bench in college. Not because they only did well in HS, but they were good in college, but had their spot take end due to an injury and wasn't able to get it back. That just like Alex Smith in the NFL, he got hurt but because Kap did so well when he got a shot, it's his job. That is what I'm talking about. You have some of the best QBs on the bench because only 1 is on the field. And you never answered about Raelon. Where is he leaning, along with the twins?
Austin was saying he is getting ready to make decision and they are intent on going to the same school so I would think Rice for the twins even though they hold dual offers from Yale. It's a perfect offense for Austin, I think he can what McGuffie was supposed to. Only issue is I think as more kids commit over the Spring and Summer Austin could pick up 4 or 5 more ULL or WAC conference type offers and if he can measure at the 5'7" or higher mark some point during the offseason he's going to get serious consideration from the Big 12. As far as I know Singleton is still taking offers but this was a kid we were talking about couldn't catch at the beginning of the year. He already has offers from Colorado St., Utah, San Diego St., and UH but I think once he hits the camp circuit this offseason and shows his improved catching prowess he's going to get some Big 12 offers so I don't expect him to commit anytime soon.
I'm sure the twins will choose Yale huh. Rice is just too close to home. Sometimes you can't wait to choose a college during your senior year, especially as a QB...if Aston gonna play Qb in college, which I heard that is what he's looking to do, he will have to commit soon. They just don't wait around anymore, those offers leave fast for QBs...can Raelon catch now? I know colleges like tall wrs and he's 6'5.....
Well Yale doesn't offer athletic scholarships so they would have to pick up some academic scholarships (which I'm sure they would, I've heard they are really smart) but I could see them doing well at Rice as well.
Yes they are very smart, but the twin QB wants to play QB in college, and Rice is not offering Qb position, only Yale...they already have an offer from Yale

I think SC will have a hard time making a deep playoff run unless they can shore up their defense. In their 2 playoff games they gave up over 900 yds of offense including over 450 to vidor. I look for SC and crosby too compete for the district title but neither one has a good enough defense to go really deep in the playoffs.
I got it out of Dayton and SC. actually i see the playoffs looking like this: 1. SC, 2. Dayton, 3. The Barbies, 4. Kingwood Park
I was thinkng the same thing but maybe Crosby battling it out with KP for fourth!
uh oh... wait for it... cougar14 AKA coug8bronco gonna weigh in on that comment.. with some stats I bet. Because we all know that stats will win the game every time.  :P
;D ;D ;D
Had it not been for a second half collapse to Manor in which we were up 11 at the break I think the team from last year would have won the region just like they did. They say defense wins championships but if you read the article on DC's where the guy did research on some of the state semi-final teams and actually showed more often than not it's offense that wins you championships. Crosby is bringing back 14 players including 8 starters on an offense that averaged 377.8 yards and 23 points on the 6 playoff teams they faced and 40.8 points and 448 yards on the non-playoff teams they played. While Crosby gave up a respectable 372.5 ypg to their playoff opponents they relinquished 33 points to go with it, 186.5 and 8.5 to non-playoff opponents. Most people would say it's defense and on the surface it is but I would accredit it more to the 26 underclassmen Crosby had on the varsity last year plus it being the kid's first year with a new system and coaching staff. With Dayton still being young while losing Chambers and McBride, BH's best player in Denny probably not going to play football(weren't going to win anyway), if we can catch SC before they can fully incorporate Jeffery and Sharp can adjust to the loss of his two favorite targets Holden and Johnson I think barring a Baytown Lee-type loss like the one that cost us a district championship two years ago we could take the 19-4a crown. I think it goes 1. SC/Crosby 2. Crosby/SC 3. Dayton/KP 4. KP/Dayton
SC lost Hogan and Ruffin, Johnson will be back! Along with Jeffrey who is WR , and 2 other 6'4 WRs who are coming right along :)
You think Jeffery will play WR? Also, I know Holt-Washington is 6'4 but which other WR is 6'4?
From my understanding that is what Jeffrey been playing, Washington is 6'4 and the kid Bucket is prob 6'3 almost 6'4.....and then we have McNeil at 6'2, we still have Wheeler at 6'1 who was 2nd team All district, we will still have a passing game.....I'm expecting the coaches to run Sharp a lil bit more this year, but we still have a loaded Backfield in Braden and Chatman
hmm, I would have thought they would move Braden to WR before they would put Jeffrey there considering how he thrived as a shotgun RB at King. So they moved Chatman back to RB huh, I thought it was kind of weird that he was listed as a TE last season.
Alot of people said the same thing, Jeffrey should be RB, I honestly thought having them both back there would be good, but I'm sure the coaches will see, and put him back there....as for Chatman, I think we shall use him at LB position

If so that's his best offer to date but I only got one source saying that's the case. Very hard to get a big time FBS offer at quarterback in the state this year. Unlike last class this one is loaded, could be another like Stafford, Snead, Dalton, Ponder, and McElroy. That's 4 qbs that started an nfl game last year from one high school class in Texas.
COugar14, why are you saying that's his best offer? Are you a Crosby COUGAR or Houston COUGAR  :D
because utah and colorado are cellar dwellers in the pac 12. at houston he would actually be able to compete for conference championships and play in a good bowl game. utah is going to be lucky to play in a bowl game in the next few years. sharp does remind me of the old utah qb brian johnson from crosby who transfered and played a year at lee before going to utah and being the sugar bowl mvp after he sliced up alabama. sharp should a few more good offers before the season starts but the upper level programs in the state can pick and choose this year 'cause of the qb depth in this class. plus i think with sharp recruiters are saying he has to play in a finesse spread-style offense like he does at sc due to the fact he has average arm strength at best. i also think he's scaring some people with that awkward throwing motion, if you type in ''aaron sharp 247'' they have some pictures of him throwing and you can see what i'm saying. he should be releasing the ball way higher than he does, looks like it hurts his elbow. hard to argue with his production on the field though so he'll still end up with probably 7-10 offers. one other great thing about sharp is he doesn't turn the ball over either.
I'm not sure what is average at the college level, but I once saw Sharp chuck the ball from the 35 yard line at one end of the field into the endzone on the other side of the field in practice. And that was when he was a freshman.
That would have been pretty cool to see a little freshman throw the varsity ball over 65 yards, most varsity qbs can't do that when their freshman in college. Arm strength is a five step drop throwing a 15 yards out from the opposite hash mark with a corner breaking on it. Sharp is a UH, Texas Tech, Baylor, West Virginia type spread qb who's going to beat you at the line of scrimmage with his head, timing and experience. He doesn't spin it like Stafford, Luck, Dalton, Ponder, Foles or Mallet. He's more Case Keenum, Nick Florence, or Kliff Kingsburry than RG3 and Geno Smith. Maybe he's Colt McCoy or Matt Lienhart though, two successful big time college qbs that had average at best arms. Sharp is strictly a spread guy who I think could put up ridiculous numbers at a place like UH or La Tech. Just hard to get an offer to one of the Texas Big 12 schools or SEC with the qb talent in the state but I see he is in consideration for a Tech and Baylor offer. He's still got to be on some other C-USA, WAC, Sun Belt team type radars too.
Oh ok thanks for clarifying, I wasn't sure what you meant by average arm. But yeah in that case I think you are right, but I wouldn't write him off as a system qb too soon. I've been impressed with how well he executes play-action out of SC's pro-style package, so I think if he can correct the mechanical flaws he could be pretty solid in just about any system, but I guess that's still to early to tell.
is that what Cougar14 is trying to say?? a system kid is a kid who is doing well only because of the system he is in....the system he is in is first of all not finesse, although Ford let him throw just about every pass, I honestly believe we have players and especially our backs are spread guys. sharp does well in the pro style formation as well, but the plays are easy to read in that formation....yes he still need to work mechanics, but as a Freshman his mechanics were horrible. He has shown tremendous improvement compared to Freshman season...I think with a decent line, Sharp can play in Shotgun, under center, etc....he just has to keep working like EVERY Qb does

 14.
Crosby wr Raelon Singleton just picked up another offer from Colorado State. He already has offers from Utah and San Diego State. There's going to be a good bit of talent on display in 19-4a this fall and now that AJ Jeffery has transferred to Summer Creek he should get some serious looks from FBS schools as an athlete.
Good Job Raelon!
