  1. Actually I think the excitement is neat.  It comes from the experience of going somewhere you have never been.  That was Montgomery last year making it to the fourth round.  The down side is once you get to a new level, the excitement is not nearly as intense the next time.  Winning is a double edged sword...once you start, everyone expects it.  Before you know it, a two loss season is a failure. Sorry again for cheating you out of an Administration.
  2. Hey BrenhamFan...come sit on our side...you will be a little more welcome.  No one in Montgomery can say too much to anyone from Brenham other than I hope you guys win State in D2.  The Vidor fans probably don't know too much about the history of the Brenham football program because they are usually done with their season about 4 - 6 weeks before you guys are.  There is a lot of Vidor bravado on this forum from a team that just won thier first playoff game since the Kennedy administration.
  3. Trying to throw 5 passes per game, and averaging two completions for 40 yards is not passing.  Most youth league teams do better than that.  Now the 311 yards rushing yards per game you guys have is an impressive stat.  Let's stick with that for forum smack talk.
  4. I think this will be a great game...and I can assure you that no one in Montgomery is looking past Vidor.  I did not know the adversity that you have been through this year, but it has the makings of a "team of destiny" sort of thing.  Anyway, the great thing about this game is what I like about Texas High School football...two small towns, where football is very important, meeting up for an all or nothing matchup...they make movies about this kind of stuff. As far as the game itself, after watching some Vidor film with my son, I think that Montgomery will win (of course) 24 - 14.  The style of offense you run will keep our O off the field as much as we are used to...however, our defensive speed will create some negative yardage plays by rushing 8 or 9 and keep you out of the endzone for much of the night...unless you guys learn to throw the ball this week.  The Bears defense is holding opponents to less that 200 ypg...the last 4 teams averaged 64 ypg. All in all, it should be a pretty close game...much more so than Montgomery/Huntsville or Vidor/Crosby.  I think how well the Vidor defense does against our 430 yard and 42 point per ganme offense will be the decising factor.  I cannot wait!
