  1. Congratulations to Travis Thompson for signing to Centenary College of Lousiana. It is a D1 school out in Shreveport, LA. He is a transfer from ETBU, and has decided to go bigger. They will have a tough scheadule with the likes of Memphis (which is there first game on November 12th on ESPN 2), LSU, and Marquette. They compete in the Summit League, and we are very proud of this young man. Please follow him throughout the years on www.gocentenary.com and send him your wishes and prayers. If you know his number txt him, if you don't and want to send him somethings message me I'd love for him to get support. God Bless you Travis.
  2. I remember hearing something about that! Thank you for bring that to my attention Two Dogs. Like I said now we see what is important at PNG.
  3. And I will agree with you that we are always the low man on the totem pole, that was very well said. But you have to see that we have the talent year in and year out, but we just cannot close out the tough games. We should've never lost to Vidor this year, and that shows you what is important at PNG. I believe that PNG basketball can be a contender year in and year out, but I do not understand why we are not. All I was trying to say, that something has got to change at PNG for basketball, it is hard for one man to do it all alone; when we have 20 football coaches in only one basketball coach in an athletic period how are we suppose to win with that?! I agree with everything you said, I hope that our program can turn it around. Give Abel some help in the period!
  4. EXcuse me Tribesman for stirring up trouble..but you tell me to look at the history of PNG basketball and that should do it? We haven't been to playoffs since 89! I guess that is because we do not have the 'depth' we need? When we had Worthington and Jamel we played Ozen to 3 and 7 and lost to Central by 1, and all we need to do was beat LCM and we lost to them in OT, whats the excuse now? 07-08 was our year, but injuries and losing kids to grades was not easy, so we held our heads high and took the losses. 08-09 We had Thompson, and 6'9'' and 6'7'' but of course we couldn't win the close games! My post was NOT directed at the coaching we have, Coach Abel is a good coach, but our records are better than what they show! We lose game after game by 3, 2, 1, sometimes 5 who's fault is that? Look at what Coach English does, he puts his team right up there with his family, trying to make something of the program! Starts 4 sophmores one year, by the time they were seniors playoff bound! And now look at his team, playing extremely well! Ask a PNG kid this year, how many times Coach Abel opened up the gym this summer? I'll give you your answer now 0! Ok maybe one time...So we have to put in the work to see rewards, so now matter how much you have to swallow ur pride, my post was right on!
  5. First off my hats off to Vidor for a great game! PNG I just cannot wrap my finger aroud their program; I guess call me the Devil's advocate. Back in the 07-08 season we had a GREAT team, and I mean that with everything in me. We had Kerr, and Thompson that should be enough said. Played Houston Wheatly in a scrimmage and played them very well, and at the time I think they were 8th in the state. Then injuries took over, and there that team went. Then this year we have probably the most depth we've had inawhile, with great height like the 07-08 team. But of course we do not win games we should. Not taking anything away from Vidor, so please do not think this reply is directed at how bad of a team Vidor is, but come on guys we are better than this! Loosing to Nederland both times this year, when everyone knows we had both of those games in the bag! I love PNG, but something has got to change. We have to start playing like the team I know we are every given night! Step it up!
  6. Wow! What an amazing story; that is a big step of faith! Prayers will be sent for this young man. If any players are reading this from PNG please make an attempt to pray for him. He is great player, with great intentions, and I hope everything works out for him. I am speechless, what a great story. Good luck Travis, prayers are with you.
  7. Travis Thompson ex Port Neches Groves basketball star, now playing over at ETBU has decided to better his relationship with Christ and better his basketball skills by having the honor to play with Athletes in Action. Some of you may of heard of it, some may not, but he leaves next Thursday and prayers would be great for this kid. He is a great player, and doing great things for his life, and I just wanted to let you all know his up to date story. Thank you for your time, and God Bless all of you!
  8. Correction. Thompson scores all the points for them. 25 of the 40 points against Ozen yeah I think so. And Abel getting a double tech and getting kicked out of the game? Wow way to show your kids good sportsmanship. I think Thompson as seen the light, he is the best player they got. So you might need to shut your mouth and go to some games.
  9. Travis Thompson-PNG should def. be in the top 5 Jared Williamson-Vidor Chad Sims-Vidor Aj Dugat- Dayton
  10. 1. J'Covin Brown 2. Tramain Thomas 3. Jakolby Joesph 4. Travis Thompson 5. AJ Dugat 6. Decarlos Frank 7. Daniel Marsh 8. Stephen Moten 9. Shannon Robinson 10.Jared Williamson
  11. Joke? Haha. Congrats to Travis way to shoot the ball. That is an impressive stat to have. Don't let people bring you down, keep doing your thing. And once again congratulations once again! We are so proud of you
  12. Ozen joesph moten PNG thompson LC-M champine Dayton green dugat Vidor sims williamson Central pickett? Ned hammond Lumberton ward
  13. Haha you better watch out Basketball hoopskid is having enough, I think he may be a little jealous? Thompson from PNG will be a great shooter also Williamson from Vidor I agree. That Dugat kid from Dayton can shoot the rock not to bad he is a sensation for a sophmore! Joesph just looks like he can post up with no shot. But Thompson, Williamson and Dugat look the best for 4a and maybe Hammonds from Ned.
  14. VCBasketball15...Palermo was our starting center, he was a senior. Bad attitude? What team do you refer of that he sat most of the game? You shouldn't question his all-district, that's attackin his game...He is a great player, but I can agree with his attitude problem, but that shouldn't be an issue on his talent. ;D Just watch for him next year,he will turn things around.
