  1. Thanks a lot TmFan06 for having a newbies back!!
  2. Hello tigerheart, perhaps you are correct, there was a period in the early 2000's that were a lull of a team. My godsister graduated in 2003 and I remember they lost that particular year. Maybe they did lose consecutive years I do not recall us ever losing to Shepherd 2 straight years. That seems unfathoable!! But tigerheart thanks for info that I was not aware of
  3. Hi ladies and gentleman I am new to this blog. I always read the blogs they seem real interesting so I decided to join. Take it easy on me and let me know if I do not use etiquette. I can get pretty fired up about high school football. Especially my home town Coldspring Trojans. With that being said hello everyone. Clearly without a doubt the Trojans got totally outcoached in the 2nd half. I do not know if you guys know it or not but the head coach Miles Robinson '94 and assistant coach Benjamin Goffney '91 are alumnus of Coldspring. These guys know your system back and forth. I along with all of Coldsprings are sick to our stomach over this lost. The 1st time in 13 years the Battle of San Jacinto trophy leaves Coldspring. Well I guess all good things must come to an end soon or later (:. I am truly not happy about this crushing defeat to start the season. We need new defensive stratgies in place immediately. Hate to lose but at least it was to our neighbors to south of us Shepherd Pirates. Hats of to the Pirates they wanted it more. Congrats to Miles Robinson and Benjamin Goffney, may you have a great season going forward. I am Trojan fan that will be rooting for these 2 alumnus and the Shepherd Pirates.
  4. Yes I am from Coldspring. My 1st time doing this type of blog, so ladies and gentleman take it easy on me. The Trojans have been hit pretty hard by the graduation bug. They have a lot of underclassmen on this year team. It will be a learning curve. Also, I was informed some of the players played 2-way the whole game, if so that surely contributed to the loss. To say the least I was very disappointed Friday night in the game results, coaching strategies. I was under the weather 1st battle of San Jacinto I have missed in over a decade and wouldn't you know the one I miss is the one we lose. I am not quiet understanding how we were leading 33-7 at halftime and come out completely flat in the 3rd & 4th quarter. I believe subsitiutions, lack of utilizing timeouts significantly contributed to this heartbreaking lost. I can speak for most of the people of Coldspring we are sad, shocked, and surely not happy. This is new to us. We have state finalists teams in 1992 & 2010. Both of these teams had excellent head coaches who were defensive gurus: late Great Ed Peveto and Coach Brian Barbary. I am just saying the defense needs a new game plan.
  5. New to the site. Trojans will have the task of rebuilding the offensive line and the line is the key to protecting the QB Scott and RB Gilbert.  Trojans may have some adustments period in pre-district but should be ready by the time district starts.  How far they go deepends on the defenses ability to cover the pass :)
