  1. The Hill rotation should start w/ Burditt. MIF04, check this young man out.
  2. The gloves have been replaced by the bats. From what I've seen over the past five years, its all about the long ball. Players are on the field that have no business out there except they can hit. Much more time is spent in the cage than taking infield practice. Also when is the last time you've seen sandlot ball being played? Why do you think the players from the islands or South America are taking a lot of the spots in the majors. Its because they strap a milk carton to their hands as kids and play all day.
  3. Way to close to call for individual talent. There is to much talent in this part of the state, but Thamm and Hales are at the top as far as a one, two punch at this point. I would not be suprised if one of them rises to the top. Because of their competitiveness, they will push each another. One is not going to let the other out do him. Only time will tell. Best of luck to all.
  4. Hats off to these two, they earned it. Just think, they'll be back next year.
  5. No, Derek and Cameron were not selected for this team although they probably should have been included. They were selected to play at Rice on a Houston area all-star team along with Colby T. Good luck to all.
  6. I've known Andy for years. The only thing bigger than his talent is his HEART! He has always impressed me. Good luck Andy and good luck Dayton.
  7. When the preseason All Southeast Texas Team was posted we thought this might be the year of the catcher. What do you think?
  8. Correction, Campbell (BH) 5 after last night.
  9. Can someone please explain why New Caney and Huffman did not throw their #1 against BH? This has me puzzled.
  10. Now falcolnfanatic is offensive, even his spelling.
  11. Not no "offense", I think he was trying not to offend.
  12. BH outscored HF last night. Talking to some of the HF parents they lost a lot of seniors last year and this may be a rebuilding year. BH looked good. Hitting is coming around (Campbell 2 HR), solid defense but pitching is still the brightest spot. The two lefties (Hales/Thamm) throw hard and are lights out. It was tough seeing Barrera in the dugout in a knee brace and not a uniform.
  13. Barbers Hill looks good. Defense is solid, Pitching is excellent and bats are coming around. I'm not ready to make predictions yet but I'm sure Stalbaum and Byrd will have these young men making some noise this season.
  14. Let's hear what a Dr. has to say before we jump to conclusions. These injuries are hard to judge until an MRI is performed.
  15. Barbers Hill's staff: Barrera Hales Thamm All throw 85+ and two are southpaws. Not too shabby.
  16. Townley and Campbell for BH can swing it.
  17. Speaking of getting ready for district, who do you think will be the main competition in district? Here's how I see it playing out. 1 New Caney 2 Huffman 3 Crosby 4 Galena Park 5 C E King 6 Barbers Hill 7 Smiley 8 Forrest Brook Comments?
  18. I don't recall seeing Arnold (Huffman) pitch but I have seen Listi. This young man proved last year that he deserves every pre-season accolade that comes his way. He is impressive. There are other really good pitchers (Schooling, Hales) in the area but did they get the job done as consistently as Listi. Listi is nails.
  19. C Campbell (BH) can hit for power and average. He had grand-slams on consecutives week-end this fall, first at U of H and then at McNeese. He also received high marks for his work "handling" the flamethrowers, Dempsey and Cervenka (Baytown Sterling). I'd put Campbell up against any catcher, especially when you add on speed, quickness and pop-time.
