I am, that is why it was so shocking that he made the decision to do this.  Not something that I would expect from Coach Hooks, especially with the years that these two teams have gone against one another. Spring should be a good test for Dayton, that will give them 3 5A's to get them ready for the season. LC-M will be a good test for WO-S as well.  With some of LCM's better players coming from West Orange it should be a fun match up.

Dayton should win 19-4A pretty easily.  The Hill will give them the biggest problem but unless Barbers Hill can score 40 on them Dayton will win.  Not enough athletes on the field that can run to keep Dayton from scoring. The problem will not be district it will be bi-district.  If Livingston or Central come out of that district as Dayton's opponent they will give the Broncos trouble.  Livingston will have quite a few skill kids back from a very explosive offense and with Dayton losing what they did on defense it will be hard to stop the Lions. It will be very interesting to see the dynamics of this coaching staff at work. 

Actually it is not more than I know.  I knew that was the excuse given, but I also know that he backed out on a commitment that he had made with Dayton.  If they wanted so much to renew this rivalry then they should have waited one more year and put it on the schedule for a regular season game so they can charge and have a big gate.  Jack - I do live around Dayton but have ties to many programs in the area due to job.  Thanks for asking.

I tell your what.  Call Coach Hooks and ask him about it and see what he says.  I hope I was given bad information because this has always been a great scrimmage for both teams. 

it was what I was told so, hence the "what I hear".  Sorry if I congused you... Would never suggest that Coach Hooks would be scared of Dayton, just asking the question.  Man you people really are sensitive.

[/quote] Has nothing to do with travel.  Dayton was supposed to go to West Orange next year.  That is what makes it such a mystery.  There was no reason for West Orange to cancel the scrimmage.  Dayton will be scrimmaging Spring from what I hear.

Noone said I was from Dayton, or a fan of Dayton.  Fact is I am fan of high school football and a fan of Coach Hooks.  My question was simply why would West Orange use a horrible excuse to pull out of a scrimmage that has been so useful for both teams.

I heard that West Orange pulled out of the scrimmage with Dayton.  They blamed it on travel but the sad part is Dayton was supposed to go to West Orange this year.  Sorry.  ???
