  1. Donald Moore has been a personal friend of mine for way over thirty years, And is one of the greatest football players in Texas History! Not only does he hold the interception record but I watched him catch Eric Dickerson from behind when Splendora played Sealy for the area championship about five times. He was at Texas Tech his Freshmen year and was starting at right corner and came home during the season cause of personal problems. Two years later he went back to Tyler Jr. College for two years and set JUCO rushing records that remain unbroken. He did have the talent to play Pro but he had a family at this time and everyone had to eat. He is a student of the game still today and I wished he could have Coached my boys, He is a fine man and someone that always played the game the right way!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  2. The Coldsprings Trojans are for real and no one in District 22-3A will compete on the field with them. To much size and a butt load of talent. They should change their names this year to the Trojan Maximums cause they are big and above average as a team. I predict undefeated in District and 2-3 rounds in the playoffs at least. Congrats and Good Luck to Coach Barbay the stars have alligned for Coldsprings this year. I just hope the players are good students cause there will be lots of offers made to there players!
  3. If Woods is coming back they are solidified as District Champs, I thought they would do that without him. They have HUNGRY COACHES, LOTSA TALENT, LOTSA RETURNERS and a Town that is behind them 100% this equals D.C. I also think Huffman will be in the running with Liberty, Coldsprings in the hunt also. But don't forget about Splendora, Head Coach Chris Nelson has already set the bar high in Splendora with records of going back to back UNDEFEATED district champs. He may lack in depth and talent but remember no one picked Splendora to win district this year and not only did they win but undefeated in district for the second year. Nelson still has lotsa love for the game and also a damned good motivator!! Going to be fun in the fall that's for damned sure!!!!!!!!!!!! You know when all the hiring went down when Nelson was hired there were some hurt feelins when Tullos didn't get the job, But Nelson came in and shown everyone he was the right man his record speaks for itself and Tullos is at Cleveland and so does his. It was in their stars to be where they are at and both have excelled, I am proud to personally know both of these great Coaches! Yall keep up the good work your players love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  4. All I know is they have already had 2 transfer O-Linemen from 4-A schools and I heard the Permian Back from a good source. Theres no telling what Splendora could do with a game changer toten the rock! If it happens I will have to revamp my picks for sure!!!!!!!!
  5. Guys I might be wrong about lighting the scoreboard up, if so I will eat crow! As for the players etbu they have them there year end and out you just have to have coaches that bring the best out in young men and sell them to their selves anyway make them believe that they are champions and the rest will work out. I knew when the new staff implemented the wing-T offense and got away from the spread they would be nasty! I was at the game against Splendora and although Cleveland lost you could see the confidence building during the game due to Splendora runs the CHUCK and DUCK-T pretty much to perfection as anyone knows that has seen them play, and now Cleveland has confidence in it and the new Coaches. But most importantly they will have a butt load of talent returning. TALENT+EXPERIENCE+CONFIDENCE+COACHING= DISTRICT 22-3A CHAMPIONSHIP-Possibly Undefeated In District. I could be wrong but its going to be some good ball next fall with Huffman, Coldsprings, and dont forget Splendora coming off its second season in a row being Undefeated District Champs! They lost some talent but have a great coaching staff too! plus I heard they are getting a transfer Sr. from Permian Basin area a RB 6' plus and 220 lbs. I cant wait GONNA be some GOOD BATTLES next year!
  6. Congrats to Hussey! Who is the sponsor of this game and where do you find information on it ?
  7. I will tell you this the Cleveland Tribe will be the team to beat next year. They only lost a few starters and return with a very talented group of JV pool, If you saw them play at the last of the year then you know Coach T. and the rest of the TRIBE Alumni coaches have them going in the right direction. With that said Huffman ,Splendora and Coldsprings will be fighting for the next two spots!! Splendora is going to be young on the O-Line this year lost two College bound linemen and all the backs! Huffman will be scrappy have a good Jr. Class coming in. If the Trojans will buy into the new system completely and everyone stay in the books they could give everyone some trouble! Gonna be fun to watch around the 22-3A gridiron next year. Coach T. Might need to stock up some scoreboard light bulbs so the North Cleveland Mayor can earn his money changing bulbs out from being lit up so much next year!!!!!!!!!!
  8. Well its official I read it in the paper today and their fullback Josh Ables was the Offensive MVP. Joe Connell made All District at 3 positions!!!!!!!!! Congratulation Guys yall will be missed alot next fall. But I know Penton and Connell will be playing on Saturdays next year and maybe Ables too!
  9. I heard that Josh Penton from Splendora ST split with the runningback from Coldsprings for District MVP. You dont hear of many O-Linemen getting that kind of stuff, What do yall think!
  10. I voted for K-Ville but I wish both teams the best. It is not very often that two teams from the same Dist. make it to the 3rd week of the playoffs! I have lived in the Cleveland area all of my life and consider Cleveland in the S.E. Area due to when I was in school and playin back in the late 70's we were in the district with Hebert, Bridge City, PAJ and others. And I will have to admit we got our fair share of A_ _ Whoopings back then. But I wish both teams all the luck and I can tell you all that everyone in District 22-3a is pulling for yall! I will say this I would hate to play a team that gives WOS a good strumming, they have to much talent and coaching!!! Go 21-3a!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  11. Halftime adjustments, Coach Brooks thought he should pass! Its the playoffs go with your gut and prat it wasnt gas!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  12. Congrats to Jasper on a great season! Navasota just matched up so much better with your teams skilled people and I think I said this last Saturday! But you have nothing to be ashamed of, you came from where you were at last year to lots of respect this one!
  13. All I am saying is Jasper will have to run the ball due to the Rattlers speed on the corners. But whatever the outcome if you win enjoy it for the next game will be against Liberty Hill and they will out gun you. Big O-Line Speed and tons of playoff savy! I was impressed with Jasper against Splendora and I promise if yall do win this week, I will be there for the Liberty Hill game. I want to see the Bulldogs play against adversity and how they react!
  14. Yes all night long if they have corners who can cover and speed at linebackers!!!!!!!! This is no Splendora team they will have the speed to make your QB make good decisions!!!!!!!!!!!!
  15. Well I have to take my hat off to Jasper, We played a team that knew our weakness D-Backs. Congats to Jasper. If every one on our team had the heart and desire to wind as the as much as our big linemen Jodh Penton. We would have given you a better run. But anywaY cncrats on the win and reprent S.E Tx. with pide and dignanty
  16. Its gonna get physical in Splendoras back yard Saturday at 1oclock!!!!!!!!!!! Go get em CATS yall are a new BREED!
  17. All I can say its a new TRIBE of INDIANS that will be facing the Kirbyville team. This one will not be a as easy a task as it was at the first of the season. I know kids from both teams will be a good hard fought game. But you have to take your hat off to Coach Tullos and the new coaches, They have fought and taught lotsa football this year! I pick the tribe in a tight one!
  18. All I know is if the Tribe starts winning the Mayor of North Cleveland could be the County Judge!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Way to go Coach T. and the rest of the home boys coaching with you. We are proud of you in Splendora!
  19. I predict a lot of Splendora runniing the ball down their throats. The longhorns will play hard but not enough ass to compete!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  20. Coach Tullos and his Coaches have done a fine job with these young men. In years past the indians would have quit in the second half but these guys played to the end! Congrats to the staff and players looks like we have a new breed of Indians coming from the tribe!
  21. Where are all those die hard fans from Sillsbee? If Sillsbee would have won they would be on here down grading all the other teams in 21aaa and 22aaa. HF is a good team and I would like to say Congrats!
  22. I was there and watched the whole game. Diboll has the best team I have ever seen them put on the field and I've watched alot of their games over the years. They have the whole package this year, a great defense to go with that powerful offense. In the past they have always been able to light the scoreboard up, but lacked in defense. Not this year they will go deep in the playoffs, Barring a injury to to #20 Congrats to you Diboll and good luck in the playoffs. I know I will be there to watch a game or two.
  23. This is hard to rank in the regular season, Most big and strong O-Linemen let subpar D-Linemen in the regular season make them look great! Its the playoffs that count!!!!!!!!!!!!! And I was at both of Silsbees playoff games last year and they almost got beat in the first round and did lose in the second. All I am saying is last years Silsbees Line was supposed to be so dominate and when paired with other big talent not so great. Its just to early to talk about DOMINATE this season!
  24. Should be a good physical game! A classic match up of Dibolls great specialty players against Splendora big physical boys in the trenches! I'm not going to call, This kind of game can go either way if the home team plays with pride!
