How do you know all this stuff? Showing my age. I was around to see it. I went to the game. That was 71/72 The 1976 team with David Brown's younger brother Anthony, Artie Shankle, Larry Taylor and others went to the state tourney, as well as the 1983 team with Delton Harper and Darrell McArthur. Not totally sure but I believe Silsbee went undefeated all the way to the title game in '92 and lost. I could be wrong might be '91 or '93? 1997 they went undefeated and were ranked #1. Lost their first playoff game to Tyler Chappell Hill, who came in 2nd or 3rd in their district.

I was very impressed with him when we played them. He played a great game, and the Orangefield people were so nice to us, as well.

Splendora's record was quite deceiving. If I'm not mistaken, they lost 4 out of the first 5 games they played, all the while learning a new offense. They obviously learned it well by the time they played us, because they pushed us all over the field. They are a well coached, disciplined team. If you look at the box score, you'll see that they had no penalties, which speaks well of their discipline. Those young men played their hearts out, and deserve the respect of every team in the area. I'm just glad we don't have to play them again this year. Having said that, I am very proud of our Tigers. This is a special group of young men.

I'll be pulling for the Stangs!!!! On Dave Campbell's site, all of them picked Giddings. I think they've really underestimated WOS. Hands down, WOS is the best team we've played all year. Good group of young men.
