1. Excellent post...hate to see the season come to an end!
 2.
Uh, no not really...The negative karma (as if it means anything at all) came from one poster last year around the time of the 3rd round game against Kirbyville which CS won...My understanding is that he gave negative karma to just about every poster from CS.... I didn't say anything bad about Wimberley...I merely gave my opinion based on what I observed last year and what I feel will happen tomorrow evening... I do wonder, however, why you seem to be so preoccupied with posting in this thread...
The same thing happened to me last year.
 3.
Check out www.highschoolsports.net. They use the same college algorithm to determine high school sports rankings. Argyle - 2 Oakhurst - 5 Wimberley - 6
Who is Oakhurst? You mean Coldspring-Oakhurst.
 4.
Argyle might want to take a lesson from UH and not count your chickens before they hatch.
I was thinking the same thing.

I'm sure you would treat us pour Trojans the same if you won.
I guess as a CS fan I don't really see it the same way...Yes we did beat WOS in basketball last year, however, we haven't won anything yet...It was awesome to witness the run to the state title game last year and watch this years team try to get back but until we're able to actually win a state title or two no matter how much I love my trojans and the kids who play for them we simply won't have the skins (so to speak) on the wall that a team like WOS does...All smack talk aside WOS state championships in multiple sports speaks for itself...Has CS had the upperhand the last few years? Yes but fortunes could reverse just as quickly... There was alot of smack talk on both sides but IMO most all WOS posters have been nothing short of gracious and complementary following a hard fought loss...The fact that they're able to do this shows that they've seen the cyclical nature of sports and understand that you win some, lose some... Just enjoy the ride because what the boys from CS have done so far the last 3 years is really special... Very few teams get to enjoy thanksgiving and december highschool football...They're making memories that will literally last a lifetime...
Well said!

Second question: is the Sykes related to James who played in the NFL and Rice? Thanks
Not sure about Scott.  Most likely related.  And I think James is his daddy.
Coach James Sykes (Cleveland ISD) is not Jerrell Sykes' daddy. I think Coach Sykes is Jerrell's uncle. Jerrell's dad was a great athlete too. I don't think Alfred Scott and Pharnell (sp?) Scott are closely related; however, they may be.
The sad thing is Coldspring excels at many other sports... they just don't have the fan base that football does... I guess those sports just aren't as testosterone filled. ;)
Huh???? Have you been to a basketball game? Of course, not the same fan base; however the gym is always packed. Additionally, baseball and other sports have solid support...Trojan Pride is evident in all areas of boys sports, band, etc.....not that it matters for this thread.
 8.
I look for the weather to be perfect.  Couldn`t ask for better weather in December. I`m  "PLEADING" to the Mustangs,  Don`t "HOLD", don`t "GET INTO A FIGHT", don`t "BLOCK IN THE BACk"  and don`t do that "ILLEGAL PROCEDURE" thing. (thank you)
Ditto to the Trojans!
 9. Today is the day that we have all been looking forward to... Thanks for keeping it real, but staying respectful of both teams. Go Trojans...Good luck tonight.
 10.
My predictions on the game: This thread may not make the top ten in all time high post's...But I bet after the game is played." THE INFAMOUS REASON WHY WE LOST THREAD" Has an excellent chance, filled with all your favorites... we fumbled too much, bad refs, bad coaching, too many penalties, jock strap too tight, wrong flavor of gator ade in cooler...and countless others you have grown to Love.... ;D ;D ** Solely for entertainment and amusement purpose's only..Educational value less than 2%....Good Luck To Both Teams..
Funny, but I actually hope/pray that the referees are a non-factor in the game.
 11. Years ago, they used to be a power house. They have athletes with potential.
 12.

wow, I have a hard time thinking we'll score that much. I believe we can get at least two td's up on the board, maybe a third, but we will not kick field goals, we'll go for it every time. Knowing wos's kicker has quite the boot I bet they'll kick field goals if they can't punch it in from the red zone. My prediction is 20 - 13 coldspring. I wonder if wos believes in it's defense enough to go for the td in the redzone instead of just leaving with some points?    I ask this because our defense stiffens in the red zone, but you never know, this may be a moot question if they just score on the first three downs every time. Lord knows we miss about 3 opportunities every game to come away with some points, though.
Great question. Seems like the redzone has been our nemesis all year long. For some reason, we have had problems punching it in. Even from the 2 at times. I.e. Nederland, Friendswood, and Giddings. Giddings was the worst. I believe we were in the redzone 6 times. And inside the 10 yard line each time. Seems CS has had similar problems. The more we talk about this game, the more it looks like teams that could change uniforms and not notice a difference.
I actually thought the same thing.
 13.
I think one interesting aspect of this game is that from what I have seen Coldspring usually starts off fast and struggles a little late and WO-S does the opposite.  Some of that may have to do with conditioning and at this point you either are or you are not.  WO-S seems to be hitting another gear late when their opponents are sucking wind.  Is CS in shape to play with the Mustangs in the 2nd half?  That is one benefit I see the Mustangs having from all the close games they played all year and the Trojans "resting starters" in the 2nd half all year through the blowouts.  Can the Mustangs keep within striking distance early and if the Stangs lead at half it could be trouble, but who knows.
Good point!
