Schneider, Dugas and Womack should all have the opportunity to play at the next level.

Coach Griff asks alot of his players. He asks them to commit to his work ethic of not letting anyone outwork his Bear teams. In turn he is committed to them. There is no coach that I know of that goes the extra mile to make sure that his players are rewarded for their efforts by helping them find a place that will allow them to furthur their baseball futures. Thank you Coach Griff and congrats to Cassidy and Adams. More to follow I'm sure.

There was mention made of the CF from Hamshire-Fannett (Joey Johnson) on another thread (Best Players in Area). In my opinion there is no one in the area who can run down balls in the outfield better than he does. For that reason I would probably include him on the all area team. There are some very good outfielders in our area. Johnson from PNG and Calhoun from Silsbee are certainly among those but to my knowledge have not played this year due to injury. Armstrong and Serna from Westbrook, Sparks from BC and Dugas from LCM are very talented. I am sure there are some I have left out because I have not seen everyone. Such as Flores-PNG, etc. If I were to pick the best area outfielders considering arm strength, speed and offense they would be as follows: Ehlert-LCM Dishon-BC Mosely-Ned Johnson-HF

Absolutely on the money "retiredoldcoach"! In summer league(select) I think that the dads should get involved and monitor pitch count and amount of rest between outings to keep their sons from being overworked. This stems from not having enough pitching on some of these teams to get through the tournament schedule (at least five games) and win the prized trophy!

After one of our dads posted on another site "this could be the best Bear team ever assembled" another poster has made the point (repeatedly) "there is no Beau Hale on that team." In reference to fastball velocity, no there's not! The only pitcher in Texas (in my opinion and I have seen most of them) that has the velocity and command that Beau had in '96 and '97 is Kyle Drabek. We don't have him either! But the guys we do have are pretty good and ready to get started. Griff will have them ready! Go Bears!!
