I cant wait to see how the match up against the Wildcats.
Yes and they have  3 very good defensive lineman and the secondary is all back except one corner, all all district type players. If LBs come through, defense is gonna be solid like last year. QB is the running back from last year who is a tremendous runner with a cannon for an arm, just never played QB before. Look for him out of backfield, like Tim Tebow.  Tell your players to strap it on tight when they go to tackle him, he is Steve Worster made over!!
Menard looked good overall.  This is his first year to play QB and it will take some time to get used to seeing everything downfield in a 4 wide offense.  He has all the tools!  Receivers are good, looked like we were looking at some new talent who dropped a few.  If we use what we got, the receivers will be better than good.
 5.
I think both teams looked pretty decent considering it was the first time to hit another team. Bridge City should make some noise, especially with those three different QB's who could pull the ball down and take off without batting an eye. That number 11 at the beginning almost got away from our guys, not sure if he's a regular QB or if he's a running back who just got the ball snapped on a trick play since I really only noticed that one play where he got the snap (was more initerested in keeping n eye on our guys). Hughes and Purks looked pretty good after their initial shakes and Asher did good too. L-Town seems to have plenty of receivers who aren't scared to catch the ball when an opponent is bearing down on them. Lumberton's D was looking strong too, swarming after the ball, LB's aren't Anthony Beard but they will definitely hold their own.
He is a receiver who was given a handoff, number 11.
 6.
Bridge City had a great running back last year. I believe his name is Matt Menard. I understand he will be the new quarterback for the cardinals this year. Has he ever played qb before? How is he looking.
Menard has played backup last 2 years at QB and has a cannon for an arm.  Usually has been a RB. Very smart kid, who will do well as QB.  He is also our best RB and is unreplaceable at that position.  Looks like were gonna hike it to him and let him run the ball a lot, and throw some.  We will see.

Wasn't he the short running back that has some serious speed?
Yup what BCgrad05 he has moved for reasons that cannot be told on here, and yes that kid has some serious speed,, they have some young runningbacks to fafill the position. And yes i see Menard being a tebow kind of guy on and off the feild  ;D
Who are these young running backs? What is their experience and how do they stack up with Cale Hyde.
We have Hunter Clark who played some varsity last year, mostly as LB.  Is very strong, good sized kid who runs tough.  I don't know anyone else!  Cale Hyde is very fast with good moves.  We lost him though and it will hurt.  Menard will carry the load again even at QB, I hope teams don't send 10 after him.
It's my understanding that Cale Hyde will replace Menard at runningback. I am still a little skeptical about moving who I thought was the best returning runningback in the district to quarterback. Coach knows best though. Anxious to see how this plays out.
Lots of people are also skeptical.  No doubt Menard can play any position on the field.  He is a big time RB though.  The RB will be a Junior named Hunter Clark who is a big strong kid who has down hill speed.  Dishon might play some RB too as well as wildcat QB.  Carpenter is backup and has tons of QB experience, tall, fast and knows the offense as well as anyone.  Definitely would be potent having him handoff to menard and dishon and clark with keeper options!!  Can't key on 4 players!!  Menard has a cannon but we won running the ball and playing defense last year.  No slights to anyone, JMO!!
 9.
I don't know. Maybe someone can enlighten us. Did Menard play in 7 on 7?
BC did not participate in 7 on 7.
