I feel This series, If they put High School baseball on espn, would make the ESPN Classic channel Sunday morning.
We did beat him the second game and swept Orangefield
Hey, You did not beat Hicks, the unearned runs did. Give the guy some credit that he pitched game one and came back for third game. The guy couldn't pitch every single game, and also play shortstop like no other ive seen.  Didn't see many other players out there carry their team like he did for 4 years. No Statum and Angelle are no Matt Hicks, he's in a league of his own.
I'm working at a hospital out here in Central TX, near Austin.  I'm taking care of an elderly lady and she's talking to me about a high school baseball game she recently attended.  I'm wondering why a lady of her age, in her condition was recently at a high school baseball game.  Anyways,  she tells me that during the baseball game she keeps hearing this "zinging noise" and can't figure out where the noise is coming from.  Says she's never heard a noise like that before during a baseball game.  Her husband too cannot figure out where the zinging is coming from.  According to the lady, the "zinging noise" goes on and on so the nice, elderly lady finally turns around and asks someone in the stands, "Do you hear that?  What's that zinging I'm hearing?"  The person in the stands tells the lady, "That's the pitcher pitching the ball".  Turns out the lady is a relative of Coldspring's coach, attends their games fairly regularly, and that's Matt Hicks on the mound making the "zinging noise".
Seems Matt Hicks is known round the state. Bet Round Rock hopes to see you play in all stars game. Hope you make it there and good luck.
Every few years players come through that really know the game and perform at the highest level in the most pressure atmosphere, these two showed how to play the game. I've been around awhile, Ty Parker of Jasper is in my top 5 of all-time high school players at the plate. If a young player wants to play the game of baseball like it's supposed to be played and could walk in his shoes for 7 innings, No.5 for Bridge City would be where I start.
Matt Hicks  Bc #5 will be remembered around this area a long time as one of the favorite and most dedicated players in his sport. He gives 110% anytime he's on or off the field. What a privilege it must have been for BC and Coach Landry to have played alongside this great athlete. He was definitly a Fan Favorite !!! The youth of this area has been given a tremendous role model to follow. Good luck to Matt at ULL and the Ragin Caguns don't know what a gift they are getting! Pleasure watching you all these years. Gonna miss #5. (BC should just go ahead and retire your jersey cause nobody gonna ever fill those big shoes!)
 4.
Hicks and Robertson  are two of my favorites, and both class acts.. How could you not pull for them??
Have to agree with you on those two guys. Has been exciting to watch BC for past 4 years an not ready to send them off just yet. Being just an old geezer who loves baseball and puter illiterate I finally had to say how much I have enjoyed this BC team. What a fine group of young men who play their heart out. I have followed Matt Hicks thru little league and don't think i'll ever see a finer young man and tougher baseball player come from this area again in my lifetime. (I wish I were younger). Heard those two boys really pumped the rest of the team up between last weeks game against Huffman. Hope they do this old man a favor and continue winning. Good luck to BC, you have made this area proud!!!!
