If you swing at a ball and it hits you (you were making an attempt to hit the ball) it is a strike no matter if it hits you in the hand, arm, head, wherever!

I think alot of the other districts put the "pick it up where you left off" rule due to the lack of lights on some fields! If you were behind, you could tell your pitcher to throw balls, walk everybody until it was dark, and then start over from scratch the next day! Just a thought.

Not true, each district has it's own rules on rain delay or any other delays. Most districts around here pick up games where they were left off!

H-J did not throw their #1 7 innings on Thurs. He pitched 1 inning over the weekend. Last start was last Tuesday. H-J wins this game 6-0!

WOS had 7 hits in the game. Scored 7 runs in the first 2 innings on 4 walks a hit batter and 5 hits. Buna had 7 hits 3 walks and a hit batter and scored 7 runs in the first 2 innings! Wow, I bet they thought that game was never going to end after the way it started out.

I wish the WOS - Newton matchup would not have been washed 2 years in a row, that game would have been interesting!

No foul ball territory, 15 foot long dugouts and a drainage problem from your know where! Jaspers is not close to the best!

Smaller schools did get a better chance like Buna and Anahuac! Buna could not compete on the same level as those other schools as you well know. Now they have a fair shake!

Why all the crying about Buna going 2A. Would it have made it more fair for a school with 413 students to be thrown in the mix with WOS,BC,Jasper,and Silsbee? (All of which were 4A 4 to 6 years ago) I didn't see them crying when they moved down. Just curious?

I hear the 2 people that actually do the realignment are from Buna! Any truth to that?

You are correct. It is really not fair when a school has double the enrollment! A school with 400 shouldn't be able to compete with a school with over 900. There are very few exceptions(Newton is one).

If that is correct, Anahuac and Buna could be 2A! That would help both of those schools in all sports.

Where do you see the bottom number?

The 1A class has to increase due to adding a third team to the playoffs next year. Our region already has several byes in the playoffs in football due to the lack of numbers. If 1A moves up, 2A must move to fill the 36 districts. The way I see it is all numbers go up until you hit the 1000 student mark. Any thing above that will remain 4A.
